U21 Italy Won the Toulone Tournament by beating Chile with a goal from Fiorentina striker Osvaldo

  Italian Soccer Serie A  Congratulates Italy U21 for Winning the TOULONE Tournament with goal by Osvaldo

While everybody is concentrated on the Italian National team and their preparation towards the UEFA EURO 2008, the AZZURRINI Italy's Under 21 won today the Toulone Tornament by beating Chile! 

It's a great moment not only for the AZZURRINI but for all Italian football fans because it is the first time that Italy  won this tournament!  Are you happy about it? I AM.

Good thing is that coach Pierluigi Casiraghi opted for the 4-3-2-1  Pele as sole striker with Sebastian Giovinco and Osvaldo behind. 

The golden goal arrives in the second half by Fiorentina striker Osvaldo !  Despite the rain, our AZZURRINI battled for the honor!  Precisely in the 70th minute a great combination between Nocerino, Dessena and finally Osvaldo gets the ball and blast Chile goalkeeper Toselli.

It is a moment to celebrate and wait for our AZZURRI, la Nazionale maggiore, to win tomorrow the preparatory friendly match against Belgium.

LINEUPS

CHILE (3-3-1-3): Toselli; Caroca, Jara, Rebolledo (27' st Sagredo); Fuenzalida, Meneses, Corvetto; Morales; Orellana, Lorca, Villanueva. (Olivares, Martinez, Vargas).

Coach: Bielsa

ITALY (4-3-2-1): Bassi; Dellafiore, Coda, Bocchetti, De Silvestri; Nocerino, Cigarini (17' st Dessena), Galloppa (12' st Guarente); Osvaldo, Giovinco (24' st Abate), Pellè. (Alfonso, Motta, Marzoratti, Marchisio, Candreva, Lanzafame).

Coach: Casiraghi

Referee: Sousa (Portugal).

    As much as was sad seeing Osvaldo scoring against Torino and crushing Milan's dream of champion league football ,as much as I was happy with Osvaldo’s goal for the azzurrini which helped them win the tournement. Viva Osvaldo

      Good to see Giovinco shining and I think Montolivo might find a space for the Olimpic team too.
