If you don't speak Italian, it's fine because you can sense the emotion from our players.
Usually only the first paragraph is sung. So, come on, guys, click the video and let's sing along l"Inno di Mameli......
Here are the lyrics for "L'Inno di Mameli"
Lyrics: Gofredo Mameli
Music: Michele Novaro
Fratelli d'Italia
L'Italia s'è desta,
Dell'elmo di Scipio
S'è cinta la testa.
Dov'è la Vittoria?
Le porga la chioma,
Ché schiava di Roma
Iddio la creò.
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia chiamò.
Noi siamo da secoli
Calpesti, derisi,
Perché non siam popolo,
Perché siam divisi.
Raccolgaci un'unica
Bandiera, una speme:
Di fonderci insieme
Già l'ora suonò.
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia chiamò.
Uniamoci, amiamoci,
l'Unione, e l'amore
Rivelano ai Popoli
Le vie del Signore;
Giuriamo far libero
Il suolo natìo:
Uniti per Dio
Chi vincer ci può?
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia chiamò.
Dall'Alpi a Sicilia
Dovunque è Legnano,
Ogn'uom di Ferruccio
Ha il core, ha la mano,
I bimbi d'Italia
Si chiaman Balilla
Il suon d'ogni squilla
I Vespri suonò.
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia chiamò.
Son giunchi che piegano
Le spade vendute:
Già l'Aquila d'Austria
Le penne ha perdute.
Il sangue d'Italia,
Il sangue Polacco,
Bevé, col cosacco,
Ma il cor le bruciò.
Stringiamci a coorte
Siam pronti alla morte
L'Italia chiamò
English Translation
First Paragraph, which is what usually is sung.Italian brothers,
Italy has arisen,
With Scipio's helmet
binding her head.
Where is Victory?
Let her bow down,
For God has made her
The slave of Rome.
Let us gather in legions,
Ready to die!
Italy has called!
YES

Nina, you are talking about my man, our roaring lion Gattuso. Man, watching the video with our azzurri gave me goosebumps too.
Nina what are you talking about? My Italian flag is ahead of yours waving side by side with Anna's flag, i am moving to my left side so you can come in front too. That's the way to go girl, now we are three waving our tricolore.

Gattuso lives life to the fullest, he puts his heart in everything, a true Italian, and a proud one too. I’m glad he is staying with Milan, couldn’t imagine the team without Rino.

That's why we call him the roaring lion of Milan. Gattuso has no other team than Milan, man, he would look awkward in another team. Don't you think?

You are right 100%

Don't forget about me! I am also cheering for our Italy, hey, I might be your opponent in the Serie A but with the nazionale we are all united. So Nina and Pietro let's sing together l'inno di Mameli... Fratelli d'Italia...
I love the video too. Great idea. How enthusiastic Buffon, Del Piero, De Rossi. Nina your Milan guy Pirlo still in sleepy mode despite all the Italian flags waving.
Anna I love the video and I can see our Italian flags waving side by side.

Mark we are not forgetting you. I saved a spot for you next to YOUR BUDDY PIETRO!!!! Rarely you guys are on peaceful terms and here is the perfect chance to shake hands, eat a pizza together all of us... finally we are not behind our Serie A teams but united as a strong front for LA NAZIONALE.
We are singing!!!!! Yes, the video is wonderful and watching all those Italian flags waving just give me goosebumps.
Ha ha ha you made me laugh because PIRLO indeed is the only one on a sleepy mode hahahahahah

Mark, you are right, we are all united for the national team. Your voice is not bad either; I can hear you all the way from here.
Mark, I think pirlo had that sleepy look on his face even when he was a fetus in his mother's womb. He is on heavy natural tranquilizers .I love my sleepy prince though. He is the master mind behind all of Italy’s moves. Rino gattuso was the most enthusiastic.

Italian brothers,Italy has arisen(as to get up) with Scipio Hemlet binding the head. Where is the Victory,Bow down for God has made her the slave of Rome. Let us gather ready to die for Italy has called. Only that part is used because the rest is too long. Of course with translation we lose the real meaning.

WOW!! THOSE Italians ARE GREAT POETS!!

On guards soldiers!!!! That's true, translation at times sounds different. for example "le porga la chioma" ahahahah
Anyway.. L'Italia chiamo' ed io CI STO, eccome!!!!
I am on guard defending my AZZURRI!!!!
Reply to this
Anna, I agree with translation you lose the authenticity of the meaning. I started learning Italian 2 years ago after my mother urged me to so I might have made mistakes too. L'Italia chiamo, and we have answered the call.

We are waiting for Suri, Kenntak, Vive, Monica08, Hilda, Dominic to join us singing l'inno di Mameli

Mark Pirlo just felt the passion of singing for Italy ,i hope he ain't sleeping, he will prove that in Euro 08 with all the goal he'll score, just watch Mark!!!

Milan99, Pirlo’s secret weapon is his sleepy look. Opponents don't know what to expect of him. It is like someone you thought was sleep and suddenly jumps in your face. You would have a heart attack and wouldn't know what to do. He is unpredictable and that is what makes him deadly.

Of course Nina, Mark and I should know this already!!
