The day has come!   Referee Rocchi whistles the beginning of the match and it is all war for the Scudetto and for Salvation!

Big surprise for Parma who decides to start with Gasbarroni and striker Cristiano Lucarelli is on the bench!

Inter starts with strikers Julio Cruz and Mario Balotelli while Hernan Crespo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and David Suazo are on the bench.

Here is Inter Starting Lineup with Inter Captain Javier Zanetti making his 50th appearance of the Season to command his team in this decisive match.

In the 8th minute great applause at the Ennio Tardini Stadium when the goal of Roma is announced, meaning that Parma has hope for salvation as there is no goals yet.  Inter is trying but more alert seems Parma.

In the 13th minute, great chance for Parma when midfielder Stefano Morrone was all alone and shoots from the center of the box only to be saved by Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar while Inter coach Roberto Mancini protests against his players for this mistake.  Inter cannot afford giving much space to Parma.

First half ends 0-0

In the 51st minute, Inter Coach Roberto Mancini makes his first substitution.  Cesar out, Zlatan Ibrahimovic in.

Coach Roberto Mancini giving precise instructions to striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is returning from injury.
Ibra has not played since March.

Stankovic  at the moment of scoring the first goal

Right in the 62nd minute, midfielder Dejan Stankovic sends an assist to Ibrahimovic who shoots from outside the box to the bottom left corner blasting Parma goalkeeper Pavarini and sending in delirious Inter fans including President Moratti celebrating the goal that sees Inter so far as Campioni d'italia!
PARMA 0 - 1 FC INTER

Here is Maicon running fast to make the pass to Ibrahimovic while 3 Para players cannot stop  him.

In the 79th minute, it was just the culmination of a suffering for Inter who "ormai" can consider themselves winner of the Scudetto 2007 - 2008.  Defender Maicon provides the assist to Super IBRACADABRA who secures Inter's victory by shooting from the center of the box to the bottom left corner where Parma goalkeeper Pavarini could not stop the ball. A total extasis for Inter fans.
PARMA 0 - 2 FC INTER

Moment of the second goal concealling INTER's Scudetto. Parma goalkeeper Pavarini with #99
cannot stop the "missile" blasting his net to the dismay of Parma fans knowing that this was the end for them as they are being relegated to the Serie B with this result.

In the 84th minute, great chance for Inter to increase the score when Ibrahimovic paid back the favor to Stankovic when he provided the first assist. This time Ibrahimovic heads the pass to Stankovic who shoots from outside the box but is saved!!!!!

Bad news for Roma fans..... It's over, Catania has equalized the score in the 85th minute and Roma cannot reach Inter.  Even if Roma win their match in Catania, Inter with 2 goals beating Parma is already il Campione d'Italia.

Inter players celebrate on the bench this great moment!  Winning the 16th Scudetto!!!

Captain Javier Zanetti salutes the fans for their constant support. Great job Zanetti!!!

A turnover  where Roma for few minutes were the Champions of Italy, until  Inter beat Parma sending them to the Serie B.  Neither Parma striker Cristiano Lucarelli nor Inter striker Julio Cruz were the key men but INTER striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring a doppietta, two goals that represents winning the 16th Scudetto.

Happy with the result? Yes and no. yes because inter were consistent throughout the season and the table shows that. No because I still can't digest the fact that Parma is down to seria B and also because roma played beautiful football this season. Congrats to Inter.

No, i am not happy with this result at all, but it doesn't matter now because Inter won the scudetto, i see your point that they had the lead for 37 weeks but you forgot that at least in 3 matches referee helped Inter when almost everybody protested? This is why most teams were not supporting Inter to win but la Roma.

Anyway, man, i am not with the result but congratulates Inter fans for the scudetto. What's your take?
