I will never forget Palermo and its people, says Palermo striker Amauri playing for Juventus next season

By Anna Italia

Another player leaving Palermo for a bigger team.

Undoubtedly, Amauri had a great season with Palermo and fans adopted him with open arms since he arrived from Chievo to play with Palermo since the 2006-2007 season.

In this season, Amauri scored a total of 15 goals up to the Serie A Week 37 with Palermo with 34 appearances and 2995 minutes played.  Thumbs up!

This is why it was so painful to see Palermo lose last Sunday against Sampdoria when it was the last match of Amauri and wearing the Captain band as he wanted.

The "GOOD BYE" from Amauri was so emotional that he was totally in tears, very touched and was not ashamed to show his sensitivity by openly crying like a child!

Hey, come on, not always you will see a player so connected with his fans to the point of crying for leaving.  I even cried watching him thanking the fans after the match.  Amauri's tears are from the bottom of their hearts and is obvious he really  cares for Palermo and appreciate the love from all fans who acclaimed him with a standing ovation after the match despite losing.

I am happy to know that AMAURI honestly is attached to Palermo.  It's true, rule of life, Amauri is looking for new horizons with better opportunities and the club needs money to sign  new players.  You bet, Amauri has conquered me as one of his fans too.

I have included the video of his GOOD BYE, ADDIO.  Click on the video to watch it.

Here are the words of Amauri, courtesy of Palermo Official website:

"I will never forget Palermo and its people, I have to thank them for everything they gave me in the last two years”.

These are Amauri’s words, that come right out of his heart and his tears show that the bond between the Brazilian player and Palermo will never end. “

Amauri continue saying, "The defeat against Sampdoria was the only negative aspect of a day that I will never forget. I had never cried before but I’m not ashamed about that. What will I miss about this city? Everything, I will never forget a team and a city that gave me the chance to become a man before a player.

Palermo made me become an important soccer player, now everybody knows me in Europe and will never forget that. I think that the love these people gave me can’t be compared to what I could receive winning with another team. I will always keep these people in my heart, they really gave me a lot and they always thank me for what I gave to this team. But I want to say it once again, I have to thank them, and one day I would like to end my career here”.

Thank you so much Anna for providing that. Being a Palermo fan is tough sometimes, because you always have to deal with losing the players you like to a bigger club. Palermo did not have the best season in terms of wins, but I loved watching Amauri play, he made the season special. I hope he returns to Palermo one day--I think he will. By the way, I need to find a video of Amauri making that amazing "blind" pass to another player who scored a goal.

A man does not stop being a man when crying to show how much he cares. Man, what a video and precious scenes from Palermo fans, i love it! I am also applauding Amauri for his great season and for being so honest with his fans. A drop of tear also showed up when watching Amauri crying, hey, and I still a man. What's your take?
