Inter is in the Coppa Italia Final !!!

                                                  52' Pele
                                                  85' Julio Cruz

Substitutions: 66' Zauri out, Kolarov in         57' Bolzoni out, Julio Cruz in
80' Dabo out, Mutarelli in        68' Nicolas Burdisso out, Marco Materazzi in
87' De Silvesti out, Tare in      77' Chivu out, Maicon in

Situation:   First leg of the Semifinal ended 0-0.

What a surprising news. Imagine, before the match, Inter players went to the Vatican for this morning's public audience held by Pope Benedetto in St Peter's Square.

I wonder if they asked for a  blessing to win the Scudetto or La Coppa Italia or both?

Ok, guys, let's roll the ball,  Referee Massimiliano Saccani whistles the beginning of the match.

It seems Inter coach Roberto Mancini is thinking on the Serie A match to avoid losing the 3 points that might risk the Scudetto.

The main team is on the bench and Inter starts with a 4-4-1-1 formation.

Goalkeeper Francesco Toldo, defenders Burdisso, Rivas, Chivu, Maxwell, midfielders Zanetti, Bolzoni, Pele, Cesar, Jimenez, and sole striker David Suazo.

Lazio coach Delio Rossi starts with a 4-3-3 formation

Goalkeeper Marco Ballota, defenders Silvestri, Siviglia, Cribari, Zauri, midfielders: Dabo, Ledesma, Behrami and the 3 strikers Pandev, Bianchi, and Rocchi.

Lazio is all set to win this match.  Come on guys, Forza Lazio ... NON MOLLARE MAI.   Just in the 2nd minute, Ledesma had the first chance to open the score shooting the ball to the right hand side but hits the post!   First scary moment for Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo.

What a moment for ex Lazio player and now coach of Inter Roberto Mancini!  Returning at the Olimpico to beat the team where he was once the IDOL!

In the 6th minute, Ledesma sends a cross to Rocchi when Referee Saccani  indicates Rocchi is offside.  Come on!  Hey, Lazio... non mollare....

Wow, guys, Lazio is on fire!  In the 9th minute, time for Behrami but his shot is blocked and Lazio gets a corner.  Tommaso Rocchi coordinates with his teammates to create danger for the neriazzurri defense.  wow...

Hum, this sounds more like Lazio opening the score soon. Inter is  not controlling the match at all.  Lazio is the one ruling.

Mancini gets desperate and encourage the team to wake up and smell the coffee.
Is now or never to eat the whole enchilada "Coppa Italia and Scudetto"

Inter seems like being in spirit.  There is a big difference between this "second team" with the "first team."  I'm already missing the character of midfielder Esteban Cambiasso and defender Marco Materazzi, Both are in the bench.

Inter is practically giving away the match!  It's up to LAZIO to profit and NON MOLLARE!!!!

In the 32nd mibute, Inter seems to wake up with Cesar sending a cross to Luis Jimenez who tries a header but Lazio goalkeeper Marco Ballotta says NO, NOT TODAY!!!!!  Wow..... what a chance for Inter.

Cesar and Maxwell going for the whole enchilada at the Olimpico.
'

Let's not run that fast because in the 34th minute, time for Lazio striker Goran Pandev  skipped Inter defender Christian Chivu but just when shooting misses the target!

In the 37th minute, Inter midfielder Pele tries a superb shot from 35 meters and again Lazio goalkeeper Marco Ballotta SAYS NOT TODAY.... Wow, Lazio fans must have trembled at the Olimpico!

Again, Inter, with a clear chance to score in the 40th minute. Inter striker David Suazo to Luis Jimenez who passed Cribari but at the end misses the target scaring goalkeeper Marco Ballotta! This was really close....

Suazo is flying!!!!  He is on top of the world!!!!

Second half starts...

Mamma mia!  Lazio returned energized and is all attack......  Four minutes of pure offensive match from Lazio who just doesn't want to give in.  Hey, I am all for LAZIO... come on guys, NON MOLLARE!  NON MOLLARE!!!

Oh no... Suddenly, roles are changing and INTER is commanding!

Wow, that's it1 Unbelievable!   Inter scores!!!!!  In the 52nd minute, a great move from striker David Suazo passing Lazio defender Cribari sending an assist to Pele' shooting to the top corner blasting finally Lazio goalkeeper Marco Ballotta!!!!  Lazio 0 - 1 FC Inter

The big moment for INTER when Pele shoots the missile while Behrami and Tommaso Rocchi only observe.
Wow... you bet Pele' was so happy that he ran to the bench to celebrate with the "main team players" who were called up as substitutes.... including goalkeeper Julio Cesar and striker Hernan Crespo

I love the expression of Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar because he expresses the total joy from Inter
while there is a moment of SILENCE at the Olimpico with Lazio fans seeing their team losing.

Now, either Lazio regains control and keep focused or Inter will win this match.

What a nice "birthday present" for young midfielder Francesco Bolzoni turning 19 years old today!  Way to go!
Happy Birthday from around the world.

In the 57th minute, Inter Coach Roberto Mancini decides to make his first substitution. Bolzoni is out, and striker Julio Cruz is in.

Here is El Jardinero Julio Cruz in a direct free kick. ....

This means Mancini wants to win this match and need the "experienced players" to secure this partial victory.

In the 60th minute, a clash between Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso and Lazio striker Tommaso Rocchi.  Uffaaa!  It seems Burdisso hurt his back?????

Now, guys, you won't believe it.

In the 64th minute, Referee Massimiliano Saccani gives a straight RED CARD to coach Roberto Mancini!!!!

Mancini was protesting for the clash of Burdisso- Rocchi. Saccani just showed Mancini who rules in the field and voila'... red card... out Mancini!   This is embarassing!   Sent off in his former stadium for over protesting!

Just look at Refereee Saccani he is not joking... Mancini YOU ARE OUT!!!!

In the 66th minute, Lazio coach Delio Rossi makes his first substitution. Zauri is out, Kolarov in.

Hey, this match sounds more like a victory for Inter.

Lazio is not reacting enough and they need to concentrate, score one goal and still have chance for going to extra time. But Inter emerged as the true champions.

In the 75th minute, Kolarov shoots with left foot  and misses the target... no guys, this is not a day for Lazio.

In the 77th minute, Inter makes third substitution. Chivu out, Maicon in

It's pure madness.  Lazio fans are contesting President Lotito!  They are already fed up with Lotito.

In the  80th minute, Dabo out, Mutarelli in
Cambio nella Lazio: fuor Dabo, dentro Mutarelli!

Oh no.... what's going on???? Inter defender Marco Materazzi

In the 83rd minute, mamma mia!!!!  Referee Massimiliano Saccani  shows the RED CARD to Inter defender Marco Materazzi for a bad foul on Lazio striker Goran Pandev.  Materazzi had a wild reaction  hitting the ball first and then Pandev!!!!

Two minutes later... In the 85th minute, la fine del mondo for LAZIO!!!!!

A goal from Inter striker Julio Cruz thanks to a big mistake from Lazio goalkeeper Marco Ballotta!!!!

The goal was empty and Cruz just happily shoots to crash Lazio's dream and silenced the Olimpico.  What a huge mistake from Ballotta.  I would expect a mistake like this from novice goalkeeper Nestor Muslera but not from Ballotta.

By now, my friends.... this is over.....   Goalkeeper Ballotta arrived too late to protect his home!  Sorry.

Time for Inter players to celebrate the end of the match and their success reaching the Coppa Italia Tim Final!

Inter is in the COPPA ITALIA FINAL!!!!  Inter winning even with the bench!  Nothing to say, Inter won fair and square.  We will find out tomorrow who will be the next finalist Catania or Roma. A final between INTER AND ROMA will be the ideal. Don't you think?

Kenntak, I don't even want to talk about how disappointing Lazio has been in this season.

Unbelievable. I agree with Lazio fans demanding the sacking of President Lotito. He is more responsible for Lazio's poor performance than Delio Rossi. What's your opinion?

By the way, Materazzi.... a disaster today!

I agree, it would be a shame to see Delio Rossi go. I think he is a very good manager and I say that even though Lazio is Roma's rival.

Materazzi has been in poor form this year, and his play this season has only given justification to views of some that he is a "thug." I have seem a number of clumsy or stupid challenges by him this season, and have watched him get beat several times on dribbles. He has actually been more of a detriment to Inter than a positive. In fact, I am happy to see him in the game when I watch Inter, because there is a good chance he will make significant mistakes,

Too bad for Delio Rossi. I was listening the Roman - Lazio radio "RADIO SPAZIO APERTO" and they also said that the fault is not completely from Rossi but that President Lotito is the biggest guilty.

Regarding Materazzi. Yes, what a terrible year for him! Sometimes, I wonder about him and all his troublemaking facility. I like seeing him with the nazionale.... I hope he behaves or I prefer he is out. Do you think he should play for the Nazionale in EURO 2008?

Yes, I can say that the whole enchilada will be if you guys defeat Roma..... that's yet to see in 90 minutes....
