RESULTS Serie A Week 36 CAGLIARI 2 - 1 FIORENTINA Goals by Jeda, Conti, and Santana "Fiorentina LOSING Everything in 1 week!!!"

By Anna Italia

Not only Fiorentina lost on Thursday the UEFA Cup Semifinals Against Rangers
but also lost Against Cagliari making Milan reached the 4th position and Fiorentina going down to the 5th position!

                           Cagliari 2 - 1 Fiorentina
20' Jeda                       54' Mario Alberto Santana

                                    51' Daniele  Conti

I love it!

Am I happy with this result?  YES, hip hip hurrah!

I don't know even how to talk about Fiorentina.  They were having a superb performance and suddenly they are crumbling in the last moments.  Honestly, I wanted Fiorentina to win the UEFA CUP Semifinal and Cagliari to win today, as I told in my Preview.  It was a disappointment seeing Fiorentina spacey not with that firm determination while Cagliari were fighting with everything they had.

Well, as a Milan fan, I AM extremely happy because Milan finally reached the 4th position after winning the Milan Derby and Cagliari beating Fiorentina!

However, it saddens me to see Fiorentina losing everything in 1 week.  Why?

Well, Fiorentina is another of my favorite teams but Milan is the one ruling my heart!  So, whatever results help my MILAN, then is more than welcome.

Just look at the joy of the players celebrating the winning goal of Daniele Conti
even the bench / la  pachina could not control their emotions and surrounded Conti!
I feel like jumping too and congratulate each one of the players!

How about Cagliari?  What else can I tell you?  Cagliari goalkeeper Marco Storari deserves a monument in Cagliari for helping Cagliari survived the relegation zone since his arrival in January.

I congratulate Cagliari Fan Coordinator Paolo Caboni for having orchestrating Cagliari fans to wear the color of the teams RED AND BLUE.  Undoubtedly, Cagliari fans were a big boost for Cagliari to believe in this victory.

Let me go back to the match.... the first goal arrives in the 20th minute after Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey concedes a corner for Cagliari when saving Matri's shot.

Here is the magic moment when Cagliari midfielder Michele Fini who previously provided the assist to forward Alessandro Matri sends another  cross following the corner to Brazilian striker Jeda woh heads from the center of the box to the top right corner. Wow, what a shocking feeling must have been for Fiorentina goalkeeper Frey!!!!   Jeda gives Cagliari partially the victory with his opening goal.

Then, the real treat!  In the 51st minute, Fiorentina Fabio Liverani concedes a corner for Cagliari after saving a shot from Andrea Cossu, again, assisted by forward Alessandro Matri.  Gee... Matri was on fire!

In the 52nd minute, Andrea Cossu provides the assist for Daniele Conti to shoot from close range to the center blasting Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey. Boy! I don't even want to know how Frey felt!
Cagliari 2 - 0 Fiorentina

News of Cagliari's victory promptly made the trip all the way to San Siro and Lugi Ferraris. Sure, all Milan and Sampdoria fans were following closely this match because they all three were battling for the 4th position!

I guess Cagliari was still celebrating when in the next minute, right in the 53rd minute, Fiorentina scored!

Fabio Liverani provides the assist to Mario Alberto Santana shooting from the center to the bottom left corner.  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this time it was one of my favorite goalkeepers to be blasted!  Goalkeeper Marco Storari shaped up immediately.  What it matters now was to protect the victory and not allow a draw.

With this result, Cagliari is the 14th position with 38 points and practically saved!!!!!!  Fiorentina went down to the 5th position with 60 points while Milan grasped the fourth position with 61 points after beating Inter in the Derby della Madonnina
AC Milan 2 - 1 FC Inter.
