Hamsik and Lavezzi the future of Napoli according to Napoli Defender Paolo Cannavaro
By Anna Italia
Thumbs up for Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro for believing in the quality of his teammates.
I was glad to read about Cannavaro's interview in the program "Spaccanapoli" in Sky.
Cannavaro said that he is happy for Napoli that despite being a newly promoted team back in the Serie A, they already achieved salvation.
I agree 100% with Cannavaro.
Napoli is in the 9th position with 43 points and with only 5 matches remaining, I dont' think Napoli risk going to the relegation zone.
I think the 2 prestigious victories are Napoli beating Juventus in Week 9, and even beating INTER with a goal from Zalayeta in Week 26. It was the first defeat of Inter in the current Serie A !!!!
Regarding his teammates midfielder Marek Hamsik and striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, Cannavaro said that they are "two champions" that can make always a difference. Wow, Cannavaro even said that Hamsik and Lavezzi are the symbol of the future Napoli.
No doubt for me that Hamsik and Lavezzi have been INDISPENSABLE for Napoli. I just hope they remain helping Napoli and bring back the glorious NAPOLI OF MARADONA. How about you?

I agree with Cannavaro. Lavezzi and Hamsik have proved their talent and will be great Napoli flags. Man, it will be ideal if Lavezzi becomes Napoli flag as his compatriot Maradona!
What's your take?

I think Lavezzi will not remain in Napoli. As for Hamsik? Right now they are doing a good job with Napoli but big teams and big $$$$$ will attract both players to leave Napoli. Don't you think? Just look at Amauri, Luca Toni, Sheva, ....

Mark,
I think it's a bit premature to right of Lavezzi as a loss for Napoli. This was our first year back in Serie A, and most players have a "look and see" when is comes to signing with a recently promoted club. Napoli has clearly shown that not only do we belong in the top flight, but that European competition is a reasonable goal for next season. This should convince the players who might not have come otherwise that their efforts will go towards a competitive club.
Also to factor in is the unique character of Napoli, it's fans, and our relationship with Argentineans. There really is a strange convergence at work that points at him staying. Napoli is the third largest market in Italy, and only has one club. Napoli has the most passionate fan base of any club; we fill stadiums every week, home or road with passionate fans and ultras. No other club has fans that travel everywhere in large numbers. Beyond the Maradona storyline, Argentineans often feel very welcome in Napoli; Many of them come from Neapolitan immigrant families, and the local dialect is even linguistically similar to the dialect spoken in Buenos Aires. Even our colors match! This is without mentioning the heavy compensation the Cammora secretly directs to premier players here.
One last thing to factor: From a football perspective, I think that if Lavezzi were to move to a larger club like Inter or Juve, he would be a second choice striker. he could do a parallel move to a club like Fiorentina or Udinese, but that would only be a change of scenery. Napoli offers everything that any other up and coming team does to him, and a few special things no other club can.
Dalla Curva,
Forza Napoli!
