Challenge was for Roma to beat Udinese to grasp the 3 points and keep the race for the Scudetto against FC Inter alive.

Good news was to see the return of Roma Captain Francesco Totti back from injury.  Udinese Coach Pasquale Marino has his 4-3-3 formation with 3 forwards Pepe, Antonio Di Natale, and Fabio Quagliarella.

Roma Coach Spalletti opted for 2 forwards: Vucinic and Totti.

I thought it was going to be a super first half with Antonio Di Natale and Quagliarella blasting the net of Roma goalkeeper Doni. Instead, the first half ended in 0-0, the real match came in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Udinese midfielder Andrea Dossena sends an assist to forward Antonio Di Natale who just headed the ball from the right of the box to the bottom right corner where Roma goalkeeper Doni could not do anything.

Right after the goal, great confrontation between DONI and Roma defender Christian Panucci.  Doni protested against Panucci and I thought he was going to hit him. Doni thought that Panucci could have deflected the ball, instead it was easier for Di Natale to profit from this space and opened the score.

Philippe Mexes had to interfere between Doni and Panucci to calm down the situation.  Gee, you should have seen the reaction of DONI bickering at Panucci even pushing him when Panucci was walking away, then Panucci reacted too and Doni even pushed Panucci's  hand!  Here is where Mexes came running to put an end to this NON SENSE situation.  Hello, no time for making a scene but to support each other!

It took Roma more than 10 minutes to equalize the score.  In the 64th minute, Roma midfielder David Pizarro sends an assist to forward Mirko Vucinic who shoots from the center of the box to the bottom right corner where Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic could not stop the ball.  A moment for the giallorossi to get energized.

Interesting that Roma coach Luciano Spalletti did not show much enthusiasm when Vucinic scored.  Well, maybe because it was too early to celebrate.  Right?  Right!

The great moment for LA ROMA came in the 70th minute when midfielder Daniele De Rossi provides an assist to Rodrigo Taddei who shoots from the right side of the box to the center of the goal.  Wow, unbelievable.  I feel so bad for Udinese goalkeeper Handanovic.

Now, my friends, even despite the constant support of Udinese fans at the Friuli Stadium, destine was written for Roma!

In the 90th minute, Matteo Brighi sends an assist to midfielder Ludovic Giuly who shoots from the center of the box to the bottom right corner blasting an already disappointed Udinese goalkeeper Handanovic.
UDINESE 1 - 3 AS ROMA

It was a heartbreaking for UDINESE players. They wasted the moment to shorten the distance for the 4th position.

Spalletti now DID CELEBRATE openly the third goal. Hello, it was now done business!
