Do you think it was FAIR to postpone the Match JUVENTUS - PARMA after the death of Parma fan Matteo Bagnaresi?
It seems violence continue in Italian football. Unlike previous violence happening at the stadiums, this time, it happened in an Auto Grill / Gas Station A1. It reminded me of the death of Lazio fan Gabriele Sandri who died in an auto grill after being accidentally shot by a police officer.
The situation is not clear yet. It's said that a bus with Juventus fans ran over Bagnaresi without knowing when they were trying to escape after being attacked. According to the report, 27 years old Matteo Bagnaresi, member of BOYS Parma, was assisting to his first match JUVENTUS- PARMA after being banned for 3 years for violence too. Bagnaresi was suspended after the match PARMA - Juventus in January 2005.
After this tragic death, the Italian Serie A Week 31 Match JUVENTUS - PARMA scheduled today Sunday, March 30 was postponed by mutual agreement from Juventus and Parma.
Many argue that it was not fair to postpone the match because it sends the message to "extremists fans" that they control Italian football. You may agree or not.

I watched the live coverage in the Italian news TG1 where they had an extensive coverage from the Auto Grill with journalist Francesco Marino.
Here are the two buses involved in this incident. The bus carrying Juventus fans and the bus carrying Parma fans.

Immediately the tragic death, Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi went directly to the Auto Grill to see what was going on.

Here is another video with a Juventus fan telling his side of the story. He mentions that Parma fans attacked them and they just wanted to escape because they wanted to harm them.
Here is another video of another witness telling his side of the story.

No, the match should have been played because few extremists cannot ruin the beauty of football. I read your posts and saw the video and it seems it was not a peaceful encounter. Bagnaresi had a record already with those 3 years banned from going to the stadium. It's crazy, but I don't think we can compare the situation with Lazio fan Gabriele Sandri dying accidentally without making confrontation with Bagnaresi, only the location is the same.

I agree with Mark, the match should have been played. Bagnaresi and Sandri are different cases, Sandri was not banned for violence. Bagnaresi had a record according to the report on the news.
What's your take?

I think the match should have been played too. The problem is that riots might had occurred in the Stadio because the Italian system has not been able to erradicate VIOLENCE yet and punished EFFECTIVELY extrremists.
I think it sends the wrong message too. Extremists are in control and with causing violence, riots, they might get their wish to stop a match. Something has to be done. IT'S NOT A WAR, It's only a FOOTBALL GAME!
