Challenge for Milan is to beat Atalanta and hope Udinese beat Fiorentina to shorten their distance for the 4th position to 1 point.

Shocking early results in San Siro Stadium bring bad news to the ROSSONERI where Atalanta practically IS KILLING Milan's dream to participate in the UEFA Champions League for the next season.

The first goal my friends arrives in the 32nd minute with Sergio Floccari. Ferreira Pinto sends an assist to Sergio Floccari and Milan goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac block the ball with his foot. The bad thing is that the ball rebound and Floccari took advantage by just shooting directly to the net!   A dark shadow and a cold shower was felt at San Siro where thousands of Milan fans felt like dying!
AC MILAN 0 - 1 ATALANTA

In the 38th minute, Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini wins a free kick on the left wing.  Unbelievable, Milan seems not able to win in San Siro in Serie A matches!  Suddenly, is this a bad luck stadium for the rossoneri?

To make matters worst for Milan, in the 42nd minute, Sergio Floccari becomes the protagonist of the match!  Floccari sends an assist to Antonio Langella on the edge of the area blasting the net of goalkeeper Kalac!
What a tragedy.  Milan losing in San Siro....
AC MILAN 0 - 2 ATALANTA

The first half ends with ALL MILAN FANS IN SAN SIRO booeing with sordid whistles!
Just take a look at this video and hear how mad the fans were with the rossoneri.
Believe me, it's frustrating for Milan fans to see their "CHAMPIONS" being a mediocre team in the Serie A.

This time the "brains" of midfielder Andrea Pirlo were not clear.  Not reading the match at all.

Only hope my friends is that Milan recovers energy FROM I DON'T KNOW WHERE and return motivated in the second half to change this score.  Hopefully, Pirlo will return fresh to read the match and help the team to grasp the 3 points!

Nothing happened in the second half until the very last 10 minutes!   In the 84th minute, Milan gets a corner kick conceded by Maximiliano Pellegrino. In the 85th minute, Andrea Pirlo takes the corner finding our legendary Captain Paolo Maldini who heads the ball from the center of the box right to the bottom left corner.
AC MILAN 1 - 2 ATALANTA

In the 82nd minute, finally Atalanta striker SIMONE INZAGHI, brother of Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi, enters to play.  Coach Gigi Del Neri substitutes Sergio Floccari and gives the chance to Simone Inzaghi.

In the 87th minute, Referee Christian Brighi gives a RED CARD to Milan defender Alessandro Nesta!  What else could go wrong for Milan?????   Milan remains with 10 players when it needs 100 to get a victory!

Here is Captain Maldini talking with Referee Christian Brighi.  By now, guys, what else was expected!!!

In th 88th minute, Referee Christian Brighi grants a penalty to Milan after Claudio Rivalta commits a foul in the penalty area against Massimo Ambrosini.

Here it was the chance for MILAN to equalize the score.  Then, you won't believe what happened!  It's just unbelievable!  In the 90th minute, Andrea Pirlo takes the penalty spot shooting from the center of the box and HE MISSED TO CONVERT because goalkeeper saved!   Excuse me, but Pirlo was hesitant before shooting!  I saw him and got a bad feeling!  It's just amazing!   Milan lost the chance to save their face and at least get 1 point.

It's really a tragedy for Milan!

Atalanta won fair and square and beat the ROSSONERI in San Siro.  Imagine, last time Atalanta won in San Siro was on March 17, 1991.  This is a great victory for Atalanta and a DISASTER for Milan.
Good thing is that Udinese beat Fiorentina.   Milan failed to accomplish their challenge, while Udinese beat Fiorentina. It's just a bad day, a terrible day.  Milan wasted the chance to shorten the distance to 1 point, now UDINESE is in the 5th position with 50 points  and Milan went down to the 6th position with 49 points!!!!

Pietro even if you don't believe it, I am not happy with the way Milan lost. Besides being an Inter fan, I see Milan as the symbol of Italian football in Europe and it just makes me wonder what will happen if Milan crumbles. It's hard to see a Serie A team shining in International competitions like Milan does. I don't know what to tell you.

Responding to Anna's question on is it the bye bye Champions League, I don't have an answer either.

Pietro it is pain to see Milan struggle like this. There were hardly any connection between the forwards on Milan's side. Everytime when the ball came upfront, either Milan failed to drive the ball to the net or just let Atalanta dissolve the situation with ease. There was no threat on Milan's forwards.

I am so MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDd with our Milan because they don't play like CHAMPIONS!

I just  had it already with so much agony! Are they masochist or what? Can't they realize they ARE RISKING THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE???????

I only compliment CAPTAIN Paolo Maldini, period. The rest nothing! Ah...yes, maybe Seedorf too...

Ok guys, i am back after reading your supportive words. Hilda and Mark i appreciate your honest view about Milan in the international level. I know we Milan and Inter are enemies, though, I am also glad not to extremism to cause a tragedy like that happened today between Juve and Parma fans, which is so sad.

You know that I am for Roma to win the Scudetto, but guys, i also wonder why Inter is losing their concentration. My Milan, what to tell you, just like Anna says, I had it too with so much agony!

Milan lost at home! Wow. Ancellotti must go, in my humble opinion. No trophies.. 4th place looks tough the way their results are going... what's left?

Ricardo15 Not again. I see your point clearly but I don't think Ancelotti should go. It would be terrible if we don't get the 4th position. Though, just commentators in La Giostra del Gol said, "I want to see a coach coming to Milan and do just a bit of what Ancelotti has done with Milan."

Results are terrible but the entire blame is not only Ancelotti. I will say President Berlusconi, players, delegate and the coach for different reasons. Berlusconi for not "signing FIT AND YOUNG" players but going for the marketing. Ancelotti for not doing the turnover when most players were fit. Players, "SOME" for having that low self esteem created by jealousy, and so on.

If you read my comment, I am just MAD with Milan's constant promises of doing better in the Serie A. Though, this time, I hope players will be fit and have subs of the same level.

What's left? No 4th place, I don't need the UEFA CUP. Nothing remains. UEFA CUP is good but not appropriate for MILAN after winning in ONE YEAR everything: Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA 2007 World Club.... it just doesn't make sense. ALL MILAN FANS are mad with the current situation and we just want to see a change, a total makeover.

      Interesting.

In La Liga and Premiership if there are bad results it's the manager who gets sacked. period.

No blame on pres or internal staff.

Why does Milan take so much time to go thru a 'renovation?'

I also am speechless. This game shows to me that if Milan is going to make the Champions League next year, it will be because Fiorentina stumbled. I can't believe it, but Milan is only a good team, not the exceptional one it should be.
