By Anna Italia

                           CAGLIARI  1  -  1  AS ROMA

3' Matteo Ferrari (own goal)        44' Francesco Totti

Challenge for Roma is to win this match even without their main midfielders Simone Perrotta and Daniele De Rossi as well as striker Mirko Vucinic.  Good news for Roma coach Luciano Spalletti is the recovery of Captain Francesco Totti who is in the starting lineup.  Challenge for Cagliari is to beat Roma to move away from the relegation zone.

I am watching the match in the Italian channel "RAI International."  You won't believe it guys, just at the beginning of the match in the 2nd minute Referee grants a corner to Cagliari conceded by Alessandro Mancini and here it's the big surprise.

In the 3rd minute, Cagliari took the corner and Roma defender Matteo Ferrari trying to clear danger MADE AN OWN GOAL!!!!

Unbelievable!  You should have seen the face of Roma coach Luciano Spalletti in total disbelief!  What a mistake from Ferrari, I would say A TERRIBLE MISTAKE!!!
CAGLIARI 1 - 0 AS ROMA

What a match! So far, Cagliari has been saved by SUPER GOALKEEPER MARCO STORARI who has blocked every attempt to score from the Roman gladiators.  Storari is flying, stretching, jumping, everything to protect his net. It must be a special moment for Storari because he played with Roma Captain Francesco Totti in the Youth team of Roma and Storari has declared that "la sua squadra del cuore" favorite team is precisely AS ROMA.

Cagliari had the chance to take the lead with another goal in the 10th minute. Francesco Pisano sends an assist to Cagliari striker Pasquale Foggia who shoots from the right side of the box sending the ball way too high! Gee, he should have paused a little bit and focus the target!

Just in counterattack, the Roman gladiators desperate to equalize, have a great run.  In the 10th minute, it is CAGLIARI SUPER GOALKEEPER MARCO STORARI denying Ludovic Giuly the joy of shouting a goal.  Giuly shoots from outside the box sending the ball to the bottom right corner where STORARI saved!
Wow, the entire Sant'Elia Stadium explodes in applause for their goalkeeper!  Well deserved for Storari.

Well, guys, as I am having my CAPPUCCINO and watching the match, I can only say that Roma is hurt in their pride and have tried almost trick to equalize the match.  Though, Storari has denied them this joy so far.

Two minutes later, in the 12th minute, Cagliari striker Robert Acquafresca is found offside after getting an assist by Andrea Cossu.

In the 14th minute, this is crazy guys, Roma striker Alessandro Mancini is found offside too after an assist by David Pizarro!  Wow, this is a good match!

You can telll that Roma is not willing to take a defeat!  In the 16th minute, David Pizzarro missed the target when shooting from outside the box but the ball went too high!  It seems the giallorossi are nervous and not concentrating on target.  They are having great chances to equalize.

In the 21st minute, Roma wins a free kick with Matteo Brighi.  Right in the 22nd minute, Ludovic Giuly sends an assist to Alessandro Mancini who shoots from the center of the box but again the BALL GOES TOO HIGH!  Mamma mia!  Every attempt by the giallorossi ends with the ball too high!  They better calm down.

In the 24th minute, again, Mancini had the golden opportunity to equalize!!!! Mancini shoots from the left side of the box after an assist by David Pizarro but the BALL HIT THE POST!!!!  Can you believe it guys!!!! Amazing, so many wasted chances!

In the 30th minute, there it is SUPER GOALKEEPER MARCO STORARI inspired!  Ludovic Giuly shoots from the center of the box to the bottom right where STORARI to the joy of Cagliari fans makes a save!!!!!
What a match from Storari!  He is practically saving his team.  Storari concedes a corner for Roma.

In the 31st minute, Francesco Totti sends an assist to Alessandro Mancini who shoots from the left side of the box and again guys, IT'S SUPER GOALKEEPER MARCO STORARI blocking the ball!!!

Cagliari starts the counterattack.  Jeda sends an assist to Alessandro Agostini who shoots from long range guys!!! The ball goes to the left but Roma goalkeeper DONI BLOCKED!  wow, it would have been a total disaster for the giallorossi !

As I was watching the match on RAI INTERNATIONAL,  I took a pause in the 33rd minute to take this  photo of ALBERTO AQUILANI waiting to be called.  Wonder whether he could make the difference for Roma.  Well, maybe he won't play.  Let's see what Spalletti decides later.

Finally guys, just in the end of the first half, right in the 44th minute, David Pizarro wins a free kick. You won't believe it. TOTALLY AMAZING!  Francesco Totti takes the free kick shooting from outside the box directly to the bottom left corner and THIS TIME SUPER STORARI could not blocked ROMAN GLADIATOR TOTTI and it's GGGGOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLL.

CAGLIARI 1 - 1 AS ROMA

Second half starts with an aggressive ROMA.  It seems Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti lectured the giallorossi  during half time because they are playing better.

Unbelievable guys!!  In the 50th minute, Ludovic Giuly gets an assist by Mancini and again waste another chance to score.  Giuly shoots from the center of the box to the center of the net where Goalkeeper Storari SAVES!!!!

In the 56th minute, Cagliari Andrea Parola wins a free kick. Wow, here is the chance for Cagliari to take the lead.  Wow, unbelievable.... Striker Robert Acquafresca shoots from an angle directly to the right side after an assist by Pasquale Foggia but Roma goalkeeper Doni saves!!!!!
Cagliari now is reacting guys!  They are believing in the miracle to win. In the 58th minute, Jeda sends a cross to Pisano who is caught offside!

In the 64th minute, ouch!  Referee Saccani gives a yellow card to Cagliari striker Pasquale Foggia for committing a foul!!!
In the 66th minute, oh no, not again!!! This is just unbelievable!  Ludovic Giuly gets an assist by Super TOTTI and missed the target when Giuly shoots from outside the box  missing the target!!!!!!

Are we watching "KARATE KICKS HERE?" HA!  Cicinho not losing the ball while Cagliari midfielder Andrea Parola tries a Karate Kick to kick away the ball from Cicinho!   Photo credit: roma.it

In the 73rd minute, I can't believe it guys!  What a chance for Roma when Cicinho sends a cross to Alberto Aquilani who heads from the center of the box BUT MISSED A CLEAR CHANCE TO SCORE!!!!!!!  Aquilani had everything to blast the net!!!!!

In the 75th minute, Cagliari coach Davide Ballardini substitute Pasquale Foggia leaving the field among applauses and it's the turn for Davide Biondini.

Oh no... unbelievable!  Guys this match is really a WIN WIN for any!  Both have had many chances to break the draw.  In the 75th minute, Andrea Cossu sends an assist to Robert Acquafresca who shoots from outside the box but the ball is blocked!!!!

Oh Mamma mia!!!!!!  Madonna santa!!!!! What's going on with ALBERTO AQUILANI????????  This is unforgivable!   Guys,  in the 77th minute, our Roman gladiator SUPER TOTTI sends an assist to Aquilani who shoots from outside the box without problem goalkeeper Storari saves!!!!  It has been a great match of Goalkeeper Marco Storari.

In the 77th minute, Referee Saccani gives a yellow card to Cicinho for a foul.

In the 80th minute, Roma coach Luciano Spalletti substitute Rodrigo Taddei and it's the turn of striker Mauro Esposito. Wow, guys, Taddei leaves the field with a big boo from Cagliari fans whistling!!!!

In the 81st minute, Cagliari Coach Davide Ballardini substitute Andrea Cossu, Cristiano Del Grosso is in!!!
Oh no!  What is he doing!!!!!  In the 82nd minute, Cagliari coach Davide Ballardini substitute striker Robert Acquafresca and it's the turn for Alessandro Matri!!!  Oh no, I don't think it has been a good move. Acquadresca even not fully fit is the best bet for Cagliari to blast the net!!!!!
In the 83rd minute, Roman gladiator SUPER TOTTI sends an assist to Cicinho who shoots from the center of the box BUT THE BALL GOES TOO HIGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

wow... Referee Saccani givces a yellow card to goalkeeper Marco Storari!!!

Seven more minutes and the match is over!!!! This draw is good only for Cagliari not for Roma.

Wow, unbelievable guys!!! In the 85th minute Mancini sends a cross to TOTTI who heads the ball from close range  to the center of the net and STORARI SAVES!!!!!!

In the 86th minute, Referee Saccani gives a RED CARD to Cagliari Coach Davide Ballardini for protesting!!!!!!
Hey, everything could happen guys!

I am telling you guys, CAGLIARI practically is saved by Goalkeeper Marco Storari!!!!

Referee Saccani grants 3 minute stoppage time!

wow, it seems like it will be a draw!!!!!!

In the 91st minute, Cicinho gets a corner kick,  David Pizarro sends a cross to Super Totti who shoots from the center of the box and IT's BLOCKED by Cagliari defender Canini! wow... it would have been a super goal!!!!

In the 93rd minute, Michele Fini sends an assist to Alessandro Matri who shoots from outside the box and it's BLOCKED TOO!!!!

A photo speak louder than words!  Here just at the end of the match, I took this photo of Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti showing what ALL ROMA FANS felt!   Spalletti knew Roma lost 2 golden points.

What an end!!!! Cagliari and Roma had last minute chances to win the match!!!!  Guys, the best player had to be goalkeeper Marco Storari no doubt about it.   For Roma the worst would be Matteo Ferrari and even Alberto Aquilani who wasted the chance to take Roma to victory!   The best thing for Roma to keep the race for the Scudetto is that Lazio beat Inter.

Anna what happened to Giuly? Having many chances and not making it?

Man, I agree with you that Storari had saved Cagliari blocking every attempt. You must be happy for your goalkeeper.

I predicted Roma's victory but Storari ruined my prediction. What's your take?

I started watching the game in the 5th minute. I did not know how the score was made, but I was watching Ferrari and was not happy with his play.

I found out later that it was Ferrari who was responsible for the own goal, and that made me even more disappointed with him especially after seeing how badly he played the ball. Roma does not need this guy, and I know he said he may not be here next season. That is fine with me.

Kenntak what's going on with FERRARI!!!!

I could not believe how BAD he played!!!!

I agree with you that FERRARI better goes to another team. No comparison at all with the great defender Philippe Mexes who is having a great season in Roma, don't you think?

However, you did not comment on the role of my favorite guy in Cagliari
       "GOALKEEPER M A R C O S T O R A R I"

He had a great performance! I think he was the best player of the match, don't know if you agree.

Sorry Anna, I meant to mention Storari. I was very impressed with him and I see why you like him.

Roma had a chance to go two points down and they blew it.

They outplayed Cagliari and had many golden opportunities to win but they could not do it.

Kenntak, you made my day by admitting that
           MY GOALKEEPER  M A R C O   S T O R A R I  impressed you.

I am telling you, I have been following him since he played for MESSINA. He was the main goalkeeper there.

Unfortunately, his short season in Milan was not that impressive because he was barely adjusting arriving in a bad moment. Precisely when Dida and Kalac were injured. Storari did not find necessary support in Milan, that was bad.

Storari's bad luck was conceding 7 goals in his 3 appearances with Milan. Though, he was not responsible for all of them.

Any way, I have faith in Storari and hope he gets a chance to go for the Nazionale. Naturally, for the nazionale my first option is our SAINT GOALKEEPER GIGI BUFFON....

Boy... I've got carried away talking about Storari

Pietro what can I tell you? I am happy for MARCO STORARI!!!!!!

I am also happy for this DRAW because Roma at least got a point and not losing completely the 3 points.

It's up to Lazio to beat Inter now!!!!

Not a bad result for Roma. I wanted Cagliari to beat Roma.

Now, my Inter must beat Lazio to increase the distance with Roma.

I agree that the best player of the match is Storari and the worst must be Ferrari, right?

Hey, guys, i just saw the Totti's equalized goal from free kick!

What a joy it is! How much i missed a freekick like this from Totti! I've been angry for Totti who led Pizarro to take a free kicks during last months! I think it is first after the Man I clash last year. Because i did not see any free kick from Totti since then! And Totti proved that he is still in his best to take free kicks!

I am superbly happy since i saw its WONDER from my IDOL! But i am sad for Roma, they could not close to Inter while Inter drew with Lazio! I watched the match between them and Lazio had to win, but the referee did not give them that penalty they deserved in the first half! Inter again got help from referee, guys!

SURI!!!!! I knew you were going to be HAPPY with our SUPER TOTTI's freekick!!!

Are you kidding me? TOTTI is still in shape to play few more years. Too bad that he doesn't take enough time to recover from injuries.

Hey, even if I was cheering for "CAGLIARI" for strategic reasons, you bet I JUMPED WHEN TOTTI SCORED!!!! He is my Roman Gladiator, well, excuse me, OUR Roman Gladiator, right?
