I am ready for this match. I had  my "Cappuccino" while watching the news  "TELEDIARIO" from Spain and their coverage about the match. What a day!  I feel so optimistic. Come on AZZURRI!!!! So nice seeing Cannavaro, Luca Toni, Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Buffon and all our players at the beach to relax prior the match.

Undoubtedly, this is a classic match without two important flags on both teams despite having a great season. Spain Head Coach Luis Aragones did not call Real Madrid striker Raul, and neither Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni called Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero.

According to Spain's newspaper "MARCA," Spain Head Coach Luis Aragaones believes that France and Italy are the favorites to win  the EURO 2008. Aragones does not think Spain is that strong. Hey, what a vote of confidence for the players today! I am glad Donadoni at least is motivating the team saying Italy is getting stronger. That's the way to talk! Motivate the team. Right?

The atmosphere among the AZZURRI is that of "friendship."  Besides talking about the match, they are also discussing on who will win the Scudetto. Wow, amazing guys.  Just continue this friendly environment but WIN TODAY. Ok,

Time to start the match!!!

Watching the match in RAI INTERNATIONAL. Unbelievable the stadium is full!  Over 35,000 watching the match while MANOLO encourage the public to chant for SPAIN with his BOMBO the famous "A POR ELLOS"!

Wow... right now, Italy's National Anthem and close up of our players.  SO PROUD of our AZZURRI.
The camera is passing close ups from our guys, Forza Cannavaro, LUCA TONI, Buffon!!!

Get ready guys, we are heading for a great match!

Now, it's SPAIN National Anthem and the stadium waving Spain flags.  Goalkeeper Ike Casillas says that
It will be a great experience to beat Italy tonight!  Will they do it.

Both goalkeepers greet each other as good friends. Buffon and Casillas.  Photo credit: Marca

Ok, guys... get set, ready, gooooooooooo

Surprise to see Robaerto Donadoni's starting line up.  Midfielders Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta in, the tridenti strikers with Antonio Di Natale, Mauro Camoranesi, and Luca Toni.  Defenders Fabio Cannavaro, Christian Panucci and Fabio Grosso are in too.

Come on guys!  Forza Azzurri!

In the 3rd minute, Italy had the chance to score with Christian Panucci sending a cross where not even Luca Toni could get the ball.  Amazing!

Just 3 minutes later, in the 6th minute, Saint Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon was ready to block Xavi's attempt to score  but the ball went wide. Wow.... guys, both teams are just on fire.!

Unbelievable!!!!  A GOAL for Italy is disallowed!!! In the 11th minute, midfielder Andrea Pirlo with a free kick from the left finds LUCA TONI ready and heads the ball blasting Spain Goalkeeper IKE Casillas!!!   Oh no... REferee says is not valid arguably by a foul from Fabio Cannavaro... well, not sure about this guys...  it looks a good goal!!!

Counterattacking Spain striker  EL NINO Torres almost scores!!!!!!!

In the 17th minute, Spain Head Coach Luis Aragones is forced to make his first substitution after Defender Puyol cannot continue for injury.   Puyol out, Albioli in

Hey guys,  XAVI is a constant danger for the AZZURRI!!!!

What a luck!!!! OH noooooo Again, !!! In the 21st mintue, LUCA TONI shoots but goalkeeper Ike Casillas BLOCKEDDDDDD...  Come on!!!!!  Gee... I am hoping for Luca Toni to score at least one goal.

Uffa.... defender Marco Materazzi is booked after committing a foul on EL NINO TORRES!!!!

In the 37th minute, guys, a miracle!!! SAINT GOALKEEPER GIGI BUFFON makes a superb save!!!! El NINO TORRES shoots to the right of the net and BUFFON made a super stretch to deflect the ball!  WOWWWW no wonder he is the beat goalkeeper!!!!!  Saved by Buffon!!!

In the 42nd minute, midfielder Daniele De Rossi makes a good combination with Fabio Grosso.  Wow, awesome, Grosso brings the ball down with his chest but missed the target when sending the ball to LUCA TONI at the back post!

I am getting nervous... I cannot even eat my BRUSCHETTAAAA !!!!

In the 43rd minute, our defender Fabio Grosso commits a foul on Xavi and the Referee grants a free kick for Spain.  Thanks God Xavi misses the target!

In the last minutes, I see Spain determined to score and very aggressive!   Thanks God we have SAINT GOALKEEPER GIGI BUFFON because he has saved  the Azzurri from  LA ROJA!!!  Just saw the BOMBO of Manolo and their constant singing of "A POR ELLOS!!!"

In the 45th minute, BUFFON again makes a great save with ONE HAND denying CESC FABREGAS the chance to score for Spain!!!!  Fabregas shoots from outside the box but BUFFON was there to protect ITALY!!!   Way to go Buffon, a super stretch to the right!

Well, guys,,,, Referee whistles the end of the first half.

I will profit this intermission to have my Bruschetta and my glass of Red wine.   COME ON AZZURRI Cheers.

In the overall, both  teams have played well.

Let's see what happens in the second half....

In the 46th minute.... Oh no!   Head Coach Roberto Donadoni  starts the second half by substituting  LUCA TONI and Genoa striker Marco Borriello is in.  Marco Materazzi is out, Andrea Barzagli is in.
Andrea Pirlo out, Gennaro Gattuso in

Well, Luca toni had his chance to score but could not do it. Other than the goal disallowed, I expected more from him.

In the 46th minute, Spain Head Coach substitutes EL NINO TORRES and brings David Villa.

Wowwww.... what a dive!!!!  In the 53rd minute, Spain striker David Villa is booked for SIMULATION inside the box to claim a penalty!  Though, the Referee did not believe him!!!!!

In the 58th  minute, Spain Head Coach Luis Aragones substitutes David Silva for Riera.

Guys, our AZZURRI are creating more danger than Spain.  Camoranesi  is having a superb match!

Another change for Spain????

In the 59th minute, Aragones substitutes Marcos Senna for Xabi Alonso.

Gee guys..... in the 60th minute, our Roman gladiator Christian Panucci had a great  chance to score with his famous trademark "HEADING THE BALL!!! The ball went out!!!! Uffaaaaaa This would have been divine!!!

In the 61st minute, Roberto Donadoni substitute Simone Perrotta and bring Alberto Aquilani!   Yes, awesome!  I love Aquilani!

My God no goals yet!!!!!  Gee, and I was predicting 4 goals in favor of Italy!!!!

In the 65th minute,  Camoranesi takes a corner kick, but nothing seems to work for Italy!

In the 70th minute, Alberto Riera commits a foul on our Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale and Italy gets a free kick.

In the 76th minute, Camoranesi made a superb   run passing 3 Spanish players but goalkeeper Ike Casillas SAVE!!!!

Not even two minutes went by....

Oh noooooooo goal from SPAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

In the 78th minute, a superb goal from the distance!!!  David Villa  sends the ball to the top corner where GIGI BUFFON could not reach!!!!!  NOOOOOOOOOO   Most amazing thing is that our defender Fabio Cannavaro headed the ball away only to fall in David Villa's foot who just shoot!!!!!    What a terrible mistake from Cannavaro.  Unbelievable!

In the 81st minute, again, Camoranesi with a chance to score when taking a direct free kick... but no, nothing happens!!!!  oh my my my  9 more minutes and this will be over!!!! Geee I hope our guys at least equalize the score.

In the 88th minute, guys, DAVID VILLA almost score a second goal!!!!!  Thanks God Buffon cleared the ball with his own legs!

Referee says 5 minute stoppage time......

In the 92nd minute, Marco Borriello has an attempt to score but is deflected by goalkeeper Ike Casillas! What a luck!!!!!! come on, come on, come on.....=

OH NOOOOOO match is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WE LOST!!!!
What a disappointment!   Not even a draw?????   What can I say?  Will it be the end of Coach Roberto Donadoni with the Azzurri?  Will Lippi return to coach the nazionale???

I admit, Spain won fair and square.  It was a real GOLAZO from David Villa!... well, as "MANOLO" with his Bombo will say, "A POR ELLOS"!
