Challenge for AC Milan was to beat Torino to keep the race for the 4th position for a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

Challenge for Torino was to beat Milan to avoid the relegation zone.

Milan accomplished  their objective  with a goal in the 66th minute by the young Brazilian striker  Alexandre Pato  with an assist from striker Alberto Gilardino.

What a match guys!  I felt so proud of our Captain Paolo Maldini seeing him all fit and ready to play his 614th match with Milan.

It's amazing how Maldini at 39 years old seems to grow stronger and making a difference in the team.  Kudos for Maldini!

Here is Captain Maldini showing great technique to Torino midlfielder Alessandro Rosina. Look at Maldini's style!  He is like posing for a football magazine!  Impressive!

In the 42nd minute,  midfielder Andrea Pirlo sends an assist to striker Alberto Gilardino who shoots from the left side of the box but missed the target!!!! The ball went too high!

Two great lions!  Torino midfielder Alessandro Rosina and Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso in a duel to defend their teams!  Forza ragazzi!

Although the first half ended 0 - 0, in the second half Milan came back determined to win.

The rossoneri knew they could not waste this chance to grasp the 3 points risking to end with a draw which would have been a disaster.

After so many attempts from both sides,  Milan starts bombarding Torino  starting in  the 60th minute while Torino fans just observed their team under siege at the Olimpico Stadium!

Milan meant business!

In the 60th minute, midfielder Clarence Seedorf starts the bombardment shooting from the center of the box but the ball hit the bar!  Uffa!

A minute later guys, in the 61st minute, our captain Paolo Maldini got an assist by Seedorf but did not make it!  Maldini missed this chance when shooting from outside the box sending the ball too high!  What a luck!

Unbelievable, Milan keeps attacking and in the 62nd minute, it is Alberto Gilardino shooting from the center of the box after getting an assist by Pato.  Torino goalkeeper Fontana saves!

In the 65th minute, Milan defender Kakha Kaladze sends an assist to Massimo Ambrosini shooting from outside the box. Sadly for the rossoneri, the attempt was blocked!

Immediate, right after Ambrosini attempt, midfielder Clarence Seedorf sends an assist to Alberto Gilardino who shoots from outside the box and again only to be blocked!  The goal was just to come....

In the 66th minute, the miracle!  Alberto Gilardino sends an assist to young Brazilian striker PATO who shoots from close range directly to the bottom right corner where Torino goalkeeper Fontana could not block it!  Finally, Milan open the score after many attempts!  Well done boys!
TORINO 0 - 1 AC MILAN

Finally, the joy explodes for MILAN!  Wow, incredible,  in 6 minutes the rossoneri bombarded Torino.

This is an important goal and Milan players know it.

Celebration is meaningful too because although PATO scored, it was Alberto Gilardino great assist to lead this victory and his teammates surrounded him to congratulate him.

Well done!  It seems the Gilardino - PATO combo is working!

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti makes his first substitution right after the goal. In the 67th minute, Gennaro Gattuso is out, Christian Brocchi is in.

You bet Torino Coach Walter Novellino  rather see a draw then losing against Milan!

Novellino  makes a substitution in the 70th minute trying to equalize the score.  Eugenio Corini is out Nicola Ventola in

Three minutes later, in teh 73rd minute, seeing that Torino could not create goal opportunities to equalize the score, Novellino makes his second substitution.  Davide Di Michele is out, Alvaro Recoba in.

Torino had the chance to equalize the score in the 78th minute.  Nicola Ventola shoots from outside the box but missed the target!  Torino players and Novellino are getting nervous knowing time is running by.

In the 81st minute, Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti substitutes Captain Paolo Maldini who leaves the field among a great applause by Torino and Milan fans acknowledging the great career of Maldini. Wow, it was just amazing seeing how Torino fans did not whistle the Captain but applauded him. Kudos to Torino fans for this great behavior!

Milan could keep this victory and continue the race for the 4th position with 49 points.  Fiorentina  continue in the 4th position with 53 points after beating Lazio.  Good thing for Milan is that Cagliari and Sampdoria finished with a draw, keeping the Sampdorians 3 points away with 46 points.  However, Udinese beat Siena and is now with 47 points, 2 points after Milan.

I know Mark. For you and Hilda is not a good day because you guys are Inter fans. For us, it is party time because we are closing the distance.

Thanks for your congratulations. Don't worry because YOU are used to win in the Serie A. Only hope that INTER "dressing room" won't continue divided because that will make them lose the Scudetto. Don't you think?

That's what I commented with Hilda that we might risk losing for internal division and the first thing to do is set aside Ibrahimovic who is causing all this division.

Man, i agree with you. It's Ibrahimovic causing all problems with his "ego."

Anyway, I am happy for MY MILAN, we are coming closer to our goal and hope Fiorentina lose so cw can catch up.
