Roma's victory keeps Juventus in the 3rd position, while Fiorentina's defeat can bring AC MILAN to the fourth position if beating Palermo! With the result of the draw of Sampdoria 1 - 1 Inter , the distance between Roma and Inter are only 9 points. Inter has 60 points, Roma 51 points and Juventus 47 points.
Bad news for Fiorentina occurs in the 43rd minute when striker Adrian Mutu had to leave the field. Mutu seemed to have twisted a knee. Fiorentina Coach Cesare Prandelli is forced to substitute Mutu for Papa Waigo.
Although the first half ends 0-0, it was until the 54th minute when CICINHO gave Roma the lead. Cicinho scores his first goal in the Serie A with a left footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner!!! Well Done Cicinho.

Just previous to the goal, great combination between midfielder Daniele De Rossi and Mirko Vucinic who shot from the left side of the box only to be blocked by Fiorentina defense.
It was clear that Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu's injury affected the good functioning of Fiorentina. Unfortunately, neither Papa Waigo nor striker Christian Vieri could made the difference and Fiorentina lost three golden points.
