RESULTS Serie A Week 24: Twenty Fourth Round REGGINA 2 - 1 JUVENTUS Goal by Franco Brienza, Alessandro Del Piero and Nicola Amoruso

By Anna Italia

Juventus FAILED to reach the second position thanks to an unforgivable mistake by Sissoko
when Referee Dondarini grants a penalty in the 90th minute to Reggina.

32' Franco Brienza         71' Alessandro Del Piero
                                      92' Nicola Amoruso (pen)

Substitutions:  Cascione out, Tognozzi in      61' Zdenek Grygera out, Hasan Salihadmizic in

Challenge is for both teams fighting for opposite  goals.

Reggina needs a victory not only to move from the relegation zone, but also to save Coach Renzo Ulivieri's job!

Juventus needs a victory to reach the second position of the Serie A provided Fiorentina beat Roma tomorrow.

Things are not easy for Juventus having to play without Saint Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.  Strikers David Trezeguet and Iaquinta are also out.

Instead of Juventus taking the lead, it was Reggina who opened the score in the 32nd minute with midfielder Franco Brienza. Reggina midfielder Bruno Cirillo  assisted his teammate midfielder Brienza who shot from teh center of the box to the bottom right corner blasting Juventus goalkeeper Emanuele Belardi.  What a cold shower for Juventus.
Reggina 1 - 0 FC Juventus

First half ends with a dramatic intent from Juventus to equalize the score. In the 40th minute, midfielder Pavel Nedved wanted to have a penalty but Referee Dondarini doesn't think so.

In the 46th minute, Antonio Molinaro missed the chance to equalize the score when he sends the ball over the bar.

Second half starts with Juventus going for the goal.  Though it was not until the 71st minute when the great Juventus Captain Alessando Del Piero, once again, lift the flag and equalized the match!!!!
Reggina 1 - 1 FC Juventus

Come on Del Piero... a victory is needed to reach the second position!

It is an agonizing match. Reggina seems determined to win. Maybe last moment for Reggina Coach Renzo Ulivieri to save his job.

Incredible... unforgivable... what a terrible mistake from Sissoko!!!  In the 90th minute, just when Juventus needed all their strength to win the match. Midfielder Mohammed Sissoko made an unforgivable and unnecessary mistake committing a foul on Reggina striker Nicola Amoruso right in the penalty area.   What on earth was Sissoko thinking with that "FLYING KICK"?  He tried to to clear the danger with an overhead but instead look more as "karate kid" kicking the back of Amoruso....

Referee Dondarini grants a penalty to Reggina despite the protests of Juventus, especially from defender Nicola Legrottaglie who risked a red card when constantly protesting.  He only gets  a yellow card.

In the 92nd minute, Reggina striker Nicola Amoruso takes the penalty and convert shooting a right footed ball to the bottom left corner.  Juventus goalkeeper Emanuele Belardi could not do anything.  What a disgrace for Juventus!

Even after Referee Dondarini whistled the end of the match. Protests continued and Cristiano Zanetti even got a red card for a foul.  Incredible.  What a way to end a match.  I might say that Juventus could have had at least 2 penalties granted, especially in the 40th minute of the first half.

If Reggina Coach Renzo Ulivieri is not saked today, he must thank SISSOKO !

I wonder why Referee makes mistakes in favor of Inter in 4 matches while here it was clear that Referee mistake penalized Juventus.  Is something fishy going on or it is a simple mistake?

I just cannot believe this result, worst, SISSOKO unforgivable mistake!

Please, don't even ask me to find an excuse for his horrendous foul on Amoruso. Sissoko instead of helping the team BURRIED THEM crashing JUVE's goal to reach the 2nd position.

    I AM SO MAD!!!!

I might agree with you on the penalty not given to Juventus in the 40th minute, but the one in the 90th minute was a fair penalty. As Inter fan, I acknowledge that some referee decisions benefitted us but that does not mean we are still the leader by our own merits.

Sorry to the Juventus fans, but as a Roma fan, I am happy. I do want to say that Juventus dominated this game and deserved to win, but that being said, Juventus has squeaked out a lot of last minute wins and draws, so a result like this was bound to happen. That was a really stupid penalty at the end, the player should have never attempted that kick, it was totally unnecessary. Reggina's passing and control was pitiful, they deserved to lose.

I also say how come INTER got 4 advantageous refereeing granting them unexistent penalties, and so on.... Though, I still can't get over the bad judgment from SISOKKO and his flying karate kick! BLESS DEL PIERO for that goal!!!!
