Good news, Goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac is  in the starting lineup.

Arsenal and Milan played only once back in 1995 in the European Super Cup Final. Milan won the Super Cup final with goals of Boban and Massaro.

Challenge is for AC Milan to win this crucial match with barely recovered players.

Will the young players Kaka, Pato, Alberto Gilardino and Alberto Paloschi be the difference or will the experienced ones shine again like Super Pippo Inzaghi and Maldini?

The only precedent in international competitions between Arsenal and Milan was on the European Supercup final of 1995. The first leg on 1 February, Arsenal-Milan, ended 0-0; the second leg, on 8 February, finished 2-0 thanks to the goals of Boban and Massaro.

I hope yesterday visit of former Milan player ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO to wish good luck works.

Referee Claus Bo Larsen whistles the beginning of the match...

wow, I get goosebumps when listening the Champions League anthem, imagine our Rossoneri!!!  Great to see Captain Paolo Maldini leading the team.

In the 3rd minute, great move by defender Alessandro Nesta who anticipate Eboue.  Come on Nesta!!!

In the 5th minute, Milan gets a corner kick. Midfielder Clarence Seedorf shoots towards the first post and Arsenal goalkeeper Lehmann deflects the ball. Almost a chance for Milan to open the score here. woww, guys, come on!
Just fast enough, the young Brazilian sensation PATO shots towards goal from the distance only to be deflected by Toure!!!

Adebayor is having a good beginning. Gee, great hairstyle of Sagna, white braids... is very cool!

In the 6th minute, countearttack by Arsenal with Adebayor entering the penalty area and cleared by Milan defender Massimo Oddo deflecting the ball in corner. Well done Oddo!

Ouch! Taking the corner, Adebayor shoots hitting accidentalyy the face of Defender Kakha Kaladze! Ouch.

Oh no... first substitution... In the 8th minute, Arsenal coach substitute Kolo Toure for Philippe Senderos.

In the 10th minute, wow, another chance for Arsenal to score with ADEBAYOR!!! Thanks God his shot was cleared by Nesta.

Hey, these 10 minutes have been an all attack from ARSENAL!!!  Come on ANDREA PIRLO, hope he can read the match well and see the roaring lion Gennaro Gattuso motivating the team.  We must awake. So far, Alessandro Nesta is having a superb match!!!

In the 12th minute, corner kick for Arsenal.  Young Cesc Fabregas sends a shot towards the middle finding the living legend of Milan CAPTAIN PAOLO MALDINI clearing the ball with a header!  Well done Captain!

I am not liking this first fifteen minutes!  It's all Arsenal attack. Thanks God our Milan defense is being superb with the experienced players Nesta, Maldini, and Kaladze!  Adebayor has been a constant headache!!!!

I have not seen "MUSICA AND MAGIA KAKA" working his magic yet. I hope he starts showing why he is the best footballer. Here is where it counts... come on Kaka!  Wonder also why Ancelotti started with PATO. Rather I would have put two forwards Pato and Gilardino, or Pato and Inzaghi...

In the 21st minute, Cesc Fabregas again takes a corner kick without reaching the target as Eduardo lost the ball.  Milan counterattacks... let's see.. come on, come on, come on... oh madonna!

In the 23rd minute, Arsenal again attacking!  William Gallas shoots from the edge of the penalty area!!!! Luckily the ball goes far wide on the left hand side... I am so glad seeing goalkeeper Zeljko kalac alert!!!!

In the 28th minute, Musica and Magia KAKAAAA, oh no.... Massimo Oddo missed this chance to take the lead. Let's not worried, we still have time... Forza ragazzi!!!  Come on KAKA!!!!

oh oh, the roaring lion Gattuso is having problem? falling and checking his foot, maybe getting a kick in the left shin?   uufa, no, nothing happened...  good, we need Gattuso right now.

Wow, precisely in the 32nd minute, Gattuso anticipates Adebayor on the cross from the right hand side by SAGNA with his famous white braid  hairstyle.!  You can't miss him !

wow, in the 36th minute, great save by goalkeeper KALAC!!!!  Sagna sends a cross to Flamini but Kalac was there  ALERT!!!! Yes!

No way jose! What is PATO doing???? In the 37th minute, Pato after a superb run  pushed Sagna with his hand clearly... oh no... this is being inexperienced mistake!   He gets a yellow card!!!! Gee, hope we won't regret having Pato instead of Gilardino or Inzaghi right now.

In the 41st minute, the great midfielder Andrea Pirlo sends a long ball to Pato ... no, can't be possible... Arsenal intercepted!!!

I think Coach Ancelotti should substitute PATO for Milan Lucky Charm "SUPER PIPPO INZAGHI."  After all, it seems experience is what is saving Milan right now with the defense of Maldini, Nesta, and the great goalkeeper ZELJKO KALAC.  Inzaghi, usually, resolves big matches in the International arena as he has shown in the UEFA Super Cup, Champions League and even FIFA World Club Cup.  Idon't think Pato should continue, unless, Ancelotti changes his module with two forwards and bring Inzaghi alongside Pato... not Gilardino. This is a clear match for Inzaqhi and his speed to define in the last moments.

Guys, this match so far has been dominated by ARSENAL...

Our beloved captain Maldini just made a nice save in the 42nd minute by recovering a ball  served by Adebayor who has been a real headache!!!

In the 44th minute, KALAC again stopping  FLAMINI from scoring. Kalac stopped Flamini's shot!  Oh guys, I hope to see changes in the second half... not liking this BOMBARDMENT from Arsenal... Milan must start an offensive match.

Referee  Claus Bo Larsen signals 1 minute stoppage time....

That's it.... no goals, first half is over...

In the 56th minute, an offside! Wow, ADEBAYOR scores and Referee Larsen says it is offside!  Saved by the bell!..

Come on MILANNNNNNN

Guys, I am still wondering why Ancelotti doesn't bring Super Pippo!!!!!!!  We are not scoring, Arsenal is BOMBARDING MILAN!!!!   It is only thanks to Goalkeeper Kalac that we are goalless right now and honor to Milan's experienced defense too. Great job by Kaladze, Maldini, Nesta!!!!

In the 70th minute, come on, Senderos commits a foul on our KAKA!  Good, Senderos gets a yellow card! Well deserved.

What a moment of madness!  It seems like ARSENAL is trying to make a SCRAMBLED EGG by crushing young PATO!  Andrea Pirlo sends the ball to Pato and immediately Arsenal  trying to clear the danger surrounds PATO between 3 defenders right in the penalty area.  Wow,, this would have been perfect for Super Inzaghi!!! Bad timing for Ancelotti calling Pato.  Inexperience is clear. I am not saying he is bad, Pato is good but certain types of matches call for specific players. This match had the clear name of "SUPER PIPPO INZAGHI."

In the 74th minute, Arsenal  substitutes Eduardo for Nicklas Bendtner.
Arsenal keeps attacking. Milan improved his strategy in this second half. However, no signs of goals. I keep saying this match was for SUPER PIPPO INZAGHI.  Speed and ability to fool the defense is needed. Pato is not ready and should take few hints from Inzaghi.

In the 75th minute, great save by SUPER KALAC!!!! Wow, Kalac is practically saving Milan!!!!

Oh, oh, something happened to Pato... is he ok? Wait... might look like he is getting cramps? twisted his knee? no, most likely he has cramps... oh well, I hope Ancelotti brings PIPPO INZAGHI!!!!!!!

What is Ancelotti doing??????? Helloooooo... Is he watching the match?  In the 77th minute, Ancelotti is bringing striker Alberto Gilardino for Pato instead of INZAGHI.  This is not possible. I protest!  Inzaghi is what you need for this match!!!

In the 79th minute, Arsenal is believing in winning this match.

Unbelievable, 10 more minutes and no goals. Well, a good thing is we are not losing, which is better than losing, right?

In the 81st minute, Referee Claus Bo Larsen gives a yellow card to Emmanuel Eboue for a failed "acting dive" to create a penalty.  Bad acting Eboue, hello, defender Marek Jankulovski did not touch this guy.  It was pure "bad acting" and referee saw it clearly.  Well done referee!

In the 82nd minute, Adebayor shoots on goal on the edge of the penalty area giving hope to Arsenal only to be awaken by Goalkeeper Kalac!!!!!!

Wow, this ADEBAYOR had not made a goal because GOALKEEPER KALAC has stopped him!  Kalac must have prayed to Saint Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon because he has done a superb match!!!!

Incredible, a mintue later KALAC again!!!!! Saving Milan in the 83rd minute from losing this match after saving a shot from Cesc Fabregas!!!! Oh my God, Blessed be this KALAC!!!! Gee, and thinking he almost miss this match for injury!

Referee signal 4 minute stoppage time... Come on Milan, resist!!!! Resist guys!! We cannot lose this match in the last minutes! Rather go home with a draw than losing!!!! FORZA MILAN  Go Seedorf!!!!

In the 90th minute, Andrea Pirlo, who has not had a brilliant match, takes a free kick sending the ball out!!! This is not possible. What a wasted chance to open the score!

Arsenal substitutes in the 90th minute the "failed diving actor" Emmanuel Eboue for the young Theo Walcott.

In the 92nd minute, Arsenal gets a corner kick wow, Walcot  gets the ball from Fabregas and shoot on goal SAVED BY KALAC!!!!! What a macth from Kalac!!! Superb!

In the 93rd minute, ADEBAYOR again!!!!! Oh wow, he is offside!   One more minute guys, hold your horses and resist!

That's it guys..... match is over... NO GOALS but a draw. Not bad for Milan. One thing I regret is Ancelotti not bringing INZAGHI when the match was clearly for his type of speedy match and last minute "score opportunities." The best man of the match for me was AC MILAN goalkeeper ZELJKO KALAC and for Arsenal "ADEBAYOR."

Match is over... 0-0, I must say Ancelotti made a mistake by relying too much on PATO... inexperienced was clearly with that "PUSH" earning him a yellow card.... rather would have a 4-4-2 ... Gilardino or Inzahgi would have made a better match.

I agree Anna. I do think they are in good shape with the second leg in Italy. Remember what they did to Man U? They were dissected.

Kenntak I am just waiting for the second leg victory! Sure, Milan must dissect Arsenal in San Siro. What do you think of Ancelotti's decision to have Pato all the way til the 70th minute when he had cramps. Don't you think the match was more for Inzaghi than Pato? I was screaming to the top of my voiceeee for Inzaghi.

At least you guys not lost the match in the last 5 minutes like we did. This is a good result for Milan. Don't you think? Yes, Pato was not the man for this type of match.

You got that one right Mark. Believe me, I almost fainted seeing the last 5 minutes with an all attack from ARSENAL... praying not to finish like Inter with a defeat. Thanks God I was not the only one thinking Ancelotti made a mistake by having Pato too long!!!

I saw the last 20 minutes of the game. It was all Arsenal. Kaka was non existent. I don't know why the AC Milan's defense was too near the penalty box. Both teams defended well. I think Milan a bit less because it allowed about 5 shots on target. Thanks goodness Kalac was alert because it could have been a dangerous score for Milan.

I can't believe Gila was not in the starting line-up. Pato is too young to start in a CL game against Arsenal. I would have put him in the 2nd half and Gila in the 1st half. If Pato wasn't carried off, would Gila have played? I remember how mad Gila got when he didn't play in the CL final last season. Pippo getting the nod. Ok, Pippo is experienced, but putting Pato now in an important game? Poor Gila.

I agree with your comment. Arsenal bombarded Milan and thanks to goalkeeper KALAC Milan avoided a defeat.

Pato? This time he looked very inexperienced among all grown ups! Like a little kid trying to get the ball. You bet Gilardino must be mad!!! How about Super Pippo Inzaghi? He is the one to protest because his technicall skills to profit from complicated spaces and scoring in the last minutes was calling him LOUDLY!

Arsenal will play the same in Milan. They don't know how to play any other way. Milan will come out to score. The Gunners will be in their element with thier counter attack game. Milan will loose.
