After
Referee Massimiliano Saccani suspended the Serie A Twelfth Round ATALANTA - AC MILAN for violence in the 8th minute on November 11, 2007, challenge for Milan is to win today this match played behind closed doors. Out of the 94 matches between Milan and Atalanta, Milan has the lead with 42 victories, but what it counts today is who will grasp the 3 points.  ATALANTA is highly motivated to win this match to dedicate to Atalanta President who is in the hospital.

As expected, Atalanta returns with Antonio Langella and Claudio Rivalta, while AC Milan will have goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac after Nelson DIDA is recovering from injury.

Surprisingly, Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti decides not to start with the famous Brazilian trio KA PA RO.  Instead, it is Pato and Alberto Gilardino to be in the starting lineup while Ronaldo is in the bench. Oh oh oh, wonder whether this is a wise decision.  Why changing what was working?

In the 5th minute, despite Milan dominating the match, Atalanta almost score when
Ferreira Pinto sends a cross to Argentinian Fernando Tissone down the right, cutting the ball back to Atalanta Star midfielder  Cristiano Doni inside the area.  Mamma mia, Doni shoots from 10 yards and Milan is saved when the ball goes over the bar!

In the 15th minute, midfielder Andrea Pirlo shoots from a corner kick, but Atalanta defense sent the ball in corner again.  The dynamic Brazilian duo Kaka and Pato giving some hope to Milan when Kaka sends a cross to Pato from the right hand side but Carrozzieri deflects the ball in corner.

In the 16th minute, Andrea Pirlo again takes the corner kick towards the middle when Atalanta goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola makes a save by punching the ball away. Not even without blinking when AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso shoots the ball from the rebound and it is GOALLLLLLLLLLLL.
Wow, Milan is taking the lead with Gattusooooooooooo.
Atalanta 0 - 1 AC Milan

It seems the kaka - Gilardino - Pato combination is not working. Question is whether Ancelotti will bring Ronaldo and for who??  Will Gilardino score?

In the 24th minute, Pato gets a cross from Andrea Pirlo and shoots only to be stopped by Atalanta Goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola from an angle!  What a luck! Pato needs to score to get more confidence.  Can he do it?

Oh well, ball is out, but KAKA sends a cross to Clarence Seedorf who heads the ball but way over!!!!!! This is not possible. Milan is all attack but not converting!!!!

Oh no, no, no, no!  Atalanta equalized the match in the 42nd minute with Antonio Langella!!!!!
Atalanta 1 - 1 AC Milan

First half ends with a big headache for the rossoneri.  What will Ancelotti do? This draw is great for Atalanta coach Gigi Del Neri.  Second half will be really interesting.

In the 54th minute, Atalanta coach Gigi Del Neri substitutes Cristiano Doni for forward Simone Inzaghi.  What will Inzaghi do?  Gee, I am glad his brother Super Pippo Inzaghi is not playing.  It will be a disaster to have both brothers playing against each other.

In the 63rd minute, Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti substitutes PATO for Ronaldo!  Incredible, I thought he was going to replace Gilardino not Pato.

Gee, what a luck guys, in the 68th minute, ATALANTA takes the lead!  Argentinian Fernando Tissone after an error from Milan defender Kakha Kaladze giving a chance to forward Simone Inzaghi who sends the ball to Tissone, immediately, Tissone shoots the ball blasting Milan goalkeeper Kalac.  Now, I have a headache!!! You bet all Milan fans too!  Oh madonna!  Simone Inzaghi did make a difference!!! Happy for him because I like him but SAD for Milan that is losing!

I cannot believe it, Milan losing these precious 3 points!  Sure, they are trying and trying, but point is they are not scoring!!! Is not until the 76th minute that Milan almost equalize the match with RONALDO inside the area but guess what happened?  Exactly, Atalanta goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola makes a great save denying EL FENOMENO a glorious moment.

Last minutes are crucial, Milan cannot execute Ancelotti's plan to win the match.  Last intent comes from MUSICA AND MAGIA KAKA sending the ball to Clarence Seedorf shooting a powerful ball but stopped by now an unpopular man for Milan, Atalanta goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola.

That's it guys, match is over... what a shame!!!! Atalanta beats MILAN.  Let's fix the statistics. Next time, I hope Ancelotti starts with the Brazilian trio KA PA RO.  Sorry for Gilardino, he had his chance, but neither him nor Pato could shine today.

Juventino, we were waiting for you, man. You see after all, it went fine for you that were so negative about Juve winning or getting a draw, while us were so positive about Milan victory. hey, can we switch next time so Milan can win? What's your take?

We still have the second half of the season and things can change. However, this defeat does not give me a lot of confidence. It appears that teams in Serie A really do not fear Milan like they do Inter. I think with the way Milan is playing, any team believes they can beat Milan.

Pietro and Kenntak I totally agree with you "this defeat does not give me a lot of confidence" either.

I am so upset with Milan because time is flying by while "other teams" are recovering points, Milan is losing them!
