RESULTS: UDINESE 0 - 1 AC MILAN "This Victory Might Bring MILAN back to Reach the 3rd Position" Goal by Alberto Gilardino

By Anna Italia

                                      UDINESE 0  -  1  AC MILAN

                                                                                         92' Alberto Gilardino

Substitutions:

Just in the last minutes, Milan grasped the "3 Golden Points" from Udinese with a goal by forward Alberto Gilardino.

Challenge for  AC Milan was to win convincingly again with the famous Brazilian trio KA- PA- RO (Kaka, Pato, and Ronaldo).  Unfortunately, KAPARO this time did not fulfill their mission.

On the other hand, Captain Paolo Maldini missed his 23rd birthday celebration with MILAN precisely against UDINESE.

Maldini debut with AC Milan on January 20, 1985.   So, Ancelotti opted for defender Giuseppe Favalli on the left.

In the 17th minute,  UDINESE had the first shot on goal with forward Fabio Quagliarella only to be saved by AC Milan goalkeeper KALAC.

In the couterattack, Ronaldo almost convert a goal but Udinese goalkeeper Handanovic saved!

It was an epic battle, both teams tried to open the score.  Just when the first half was about to end, Milan gets a free kick from the edge of the area.

Here comes another wasted opportunity to convert a goal when the great midfielder Clarence Seedorf sends the ball just wide!  Oh boy, what a luck!!

Is not that KAPARO did not work completely. Kaka, Pato, and Ronaldo made great passes. Point is that they could not convert those opportunities into goals, which at the end is what it counts. Right?

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti decides to substitute RONALDO for Alberto Gilardino in the 83rd minute.  Wow, just seven minutes before the end of the match.

KAKA continues his magic moves.

You could see GILARDINO in action right from the beginning when he sent a powerful shot only to be saved by Udinese goalkeeper Handanovic!

It was a win win for Milan, nothing else.

Ten minutes later after his substitution, Alberto Gilardino scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute for AC Milan with an assist of KAKA with a back heel!

Milan made it and saves 3 valuable points.

Anna you bet Milan can make it to the second position, problem, is to use turnover effectively. I hope Ancelotti let Pato and Ronaldo rest too and combine with Gilardino and Inzaghi, same for Kaka. Players need resting time and Milan can make it at least to the third position. What's your take?

I agree, Ancelotti must play carefully the KAPARO card. From now on, it's time to recover wasted points. Gilardino, Kaka, Inzaghi, Pato, and Ronaldo can be used in different games to let each one of them rest to recover energy. Don't you think?

Milan99, I don't like Ronaldo's hair style at all. About Roma and Juve, it seems Juve is losing concentration. Do you know that Milan can reach 36 points if winning the pending 3 matches? it will be a tough duel with Juventus.

Pietro I think Milan is playing with more concentration because they don't have to worry anymore about the big tournaments. Too bad they were eliminated from the Coppa Italia. I want to see Gilardino scoring more goals.
