RESULTS: Third Round Italian TIM Cup - Coppa Italia TIM "INTER Continues Winning, Palermo and Milan the biggest disappointments"

By Anna Italia

Are you surprised with Inter's victory?  I hope not.  By now, we are used to hear Inter won. The surprise will be "Inter lost."  If you are wondering when Inter is going to lose, so do I. Lazio is saved by the bell.

What surprised me about Inter is that it took more than half an hour to open the score against the poor Reggina.  Glad to see Argentinian forward Hernan Crespo scoring.  Awesome.  Contrary to Forward Alberto Gilardino  with AC Milan that could not score a single goal.

Lazio made it thanks to a goal from Tare.  A good happy day for Lazio fans after their lost on Sunday in the Eighteenth Round Serie A against Genoa.  It means that Inter and Lazio pass to the  quarterfinals as well as AS Roma and FC Juventus.

Out of the 5 matches of the Coppa Italia TIM yesterday,  the biggest disappointments were Palermo and AC Milan.  It is just unbelievable that AC Milan "the best World Club" struggles with small teams while shines more than a sunshine in International competitions with biggest teams.

Not only AC Milan gets a DRAW against Catania, but barely scored a single goal.  Still this draw was not enough and MILAN IS ELIMINATED because Catania won in the first leg 2 -1 in San Siro. Thus, Catania pass to the quarterfinals. Sure, you might argue that this AC MILAN was not the "true AC MILAN CHAMPION." Then, what should we say, "Will the real AC Milan stand up?" Hello, excuse me. Don't you think is about time Milan be strong enough in the local league just like their declared enemy FC Inter?  I think so!

How about Palermo?  This is even a biggest upset.  Milan at least got an away draw, but Palermo losing at home? Knock, knock, anybody home?  What's going on with Palermo??? Already changed coach, had enough time during the Christmas break to recover and improved their strategies.  Yet, not even scoring a single goal at home?  They are out of the COPPA ITALIA TOO just like AC Milan.

KUDOS to FC Juventus, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, and AS Roma for winning at home with more than one goal!  That's what Palermo should have done.

So happy for Fiorentina because Forward Giampaolo Pazzini scored the two goals, a doppietta!  It means he is getting confident after returning from injury.  It will be tough for him because he now has to fight for a position in the club. Yet, it is also good because Fiorentina can rely on their forwards being fit enough to do turnovers.  Forwards Adrian Mutu and Christian Vieri are just on fire.

Good thing about the Coppa Italia is seeing forwards scoring big time, like the doppiette (two goals)  from Vincenzo Iaquinta (Juventus), Giampaolo Pazzini (Fiorentina),  Francesco Totti, (AS Roma.), and Bonazzoli (Sampdoria)

Milan and Palermo are REAL disappointments. I can't believe neither will advance.

I am very proud of Roma. They were up against the wall facing a 1-3 first leg and were tied 0-0 at the half of the second leg. What an explosion of points, just what they needed! I thought they would be eliminated too.

As for kudos, don't forget Bonazzoli who had two goals also.

Thanks Kenntak, just updated the post with Bonazzoli... Can you believe Milan and Palermo not in the Italian TIM Cup? Yet, Catania made it? Roma won big time! Let me stand up to give them a standing ovation, especially to Captain Francesco Totti for his doppietta!!!!

I am going for Juventus to win the Coppa Italia, how about you?

Just wondering Kenntak ha ha ha ha.
I love Roma, but hey, realistically, JUVE has better chances because no pressure for other international competitions. Besides, I want them to win the first SILVER STAR. Then, ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO is shining by the minute, just like Francesco Totti.

Well, we see how it goes in the next round.

Kenntak next is JUVE - INTER, who are you cheering for?

Well, well, well, I might disagree a little bit with you. Compared to the Champions League, UEFA or FIFA matches, la Coppa is not that important. However, when it comes for MILAN "the Best World Club," it is not acceptable to lose this "small tournament' not even with the bench. Don't you think?

Nope. Ancelotti is not risking everything. He risked only the "small local tournament." I will be mad if he put the bench for the Serie A. Then, I will agree with you that he is risking....
