PATO debuts with AC Milan (La Presse)
While AC Milan needs a victory against all odds to reach the 4th position, Napoli is also motivated to beat the best world club to consolidate their status as an emergence force in the Serie A. Can Milan break the "maledizione" (spell) of not winning in San Siro?

Finally, Brazilian Forward Pato makes his debut! Before the match, Pato promised to make at least 1 goal against Napoli.  Will he accomplish his goal?

Milan starts winning with a great game after a pass from Midfielder Andrea Pirlo to Brazilian forward RONALDO.   Ronaldo kicks and it is goalllllll....

AC Milan 1 - 0 Napoli.

It proves Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti was right to include RONALDO in the starting line up.
It is a joy to see the BRAZILIAN trio in action, Ronaldo, Kaka, and Pato.

Can Milan keep the leadership?

Napoli is not willing not give in so easily.  Actually, Napoli with an energized Ezequiel Lavezzi seems determined to ruin Milan's party celebration as the best World Club.

In the 28th minute, the unstoppable Ezequiel Lavezzi makes a pass to Napoli forward Roberto Carlos Sosa and it is goal!   Sosa's first goal against AC Milan.

AC Milan 1 - 1 Napoli.

Not even three minutes, and AC Milan reacts like 11 roaring lions protecting their meat.   In the 31st minute, Ronaldo makes a pass to Pato, and Pato to Clarence Seedorf.   AC Milan is right back on target with a goal from midfielder Clarence Seedorf.
AC Milan 2 - 1 Napoli.

Again, in less than 3 minutes, there is another goal.  This time belongs to Napoli when Referee Rosetti grants a penalty kick to Napoli.  Kakha Kaladze commits foul on Domizzi.  Domizzi sets right in position blasting the ball to the right side of  Milan goalkeeper Nelson DIDA.
AC Milan2 - 2 Napoli.

What a match.  It is a great challenge for both teams.  So far, Ezequiel Lavezzi has been a nightmare for Milan's defense.  First half ends with a 2-2 draw. Milan better shape up and return to the second half concentrated and a calm Ambrosini.

What will be Napoli coach Edy Reja's strategy for the second half?  I doubt he will substitute Lavezzi.  What about Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti?  Will he substitute Ambrosini who seems extra nervous?

Second half starts with the surprise of Ancelotti substituting Captain Paolo Maldini.

Ohhhh. wow, great pass from Clarence Seedorf to Ronaldo and it is goal!!!!! In the 46th minute, Ronaldo takes Milan by the hand to a victory after a pass from Clarence Seedorf with a pass from the left.  Ronaldo just assumes he is in the beach and DIVES to head the ball blasting Napoli goalkeeper Iezzo.
AC Milan 3 - 2 Napoli.

It seems Napoli is demoralized after the third goal.  Certainly, Ezequiel Lavezzi does not seem that alert anymore like in the first half.

In the 68th minute, KAKA shoots from  22 meters blasting Napoli goalkeep Iezzo.
AC Milan 4 - 2 Napoli.

Napoli players just seem crushed. Already resigned to this defeat. Lavezzi lost his sharpness and the Rossoneri are getting energized by the minute.  Milan fans keeps motivating the team and it is just a big party in San Siro.

Just as he promised, in the 74th minute, PATO makes his debut with one goal!!!!!!  Awesome. The entire San Siro Stadium welcomes PATO's goal.
AC Milan 5 - 2 Napoli.

There is one minute stoppage time.  In the 90th minute, Referee Rosetti gives a red card to Napoli Walter Gargano after a foul on PATO.

That's it. It's over. The miracle arrived in San Siro!  Referee Rosetti whistles the end of the match.  PATO fulfilled his promise by scoring one goal in his debut with AC Milan.  A great performance by RONALDO.  The future for AC Milan looks brighter like a Sunshine.

You bet AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi and AC Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti are surely happy with this spectacular result.  Just before the match Berlusconi celebrated Milan's trophy as the 2007 FIFA World Club Champions along with legendary Captain Paolo Maldini.

At least Napoli forward Sosa's words were true when he said that it was going to be a spectacular game and that Milan was looking to celebrate the New Year with a victory.  Sadly for Sosa, the spectacular game was for AC Milan.

Pietro I know. This is madness. Napoli is playing with all their drive to beat Milan. Lavezzi is a nightmare! Ambrosini seems so nervous. I hope the score changes in the second half to favor Milan.

I saw the game. Wow!!!!! The 1st half was predictable milan thought they could keep the lead with a mere 1-nil. Boy were they wrong. Losing the lead TWICE!! At home!!! Be careful Milan. Napoli played amazingly, with passion. Lavezzi was brilliant. Lavezzi got tired of the one on one with Nesta in the left and began shifting toward the right and in the middle. Hamsik a bit less.

Hats off to Pato. For his debut at the San Siro. Looks like he's been playing for years. This game made me realize why I prefer the premiership games. The premiership is all about scoring as many goals as you can if you can. More vertical action, pass it to the striker immediately. Everything's quicker. See Man U 4nil and now 6nil in their last game.

Milan was content with a goal difference and they paid for it. Everytime Pato or Pirlo or Seedorf got the ball there would be at least 6 passes near the box before anyone can shoot. It slowed down the game. Napoli was quicker near the box and had more chances.

I agree, the first half was "almost" predictable. I score, you score. Lavezzi was Napoli's motor. What a player, it reminded me of Leo Messi. Yet, in the second half after the third goal, he seemed lost, tired. Slowly, Napoli conceded the match after the 4th goal. I think Milan will start scoring as many goals as possible from now on. Is not that Pato and Ronaldo will be content with only one goal. For Milan, Ambrosini was so nervous, committing unnecessary faults. Nesta superb!
