BEFORE THE MATCH:  Serie A Standing:  Catania 10th position, 21 points
FC Juventus 3rd position, 35 points

What's going on with almighty JUVENTUS?  Suddenly, Juventus seem weaker and not able to beat "smaller teams."  I only wish this happens to FC Inter and start losing some points to give chance to Roma, Juve, and Milan to shorten the distance.

In the 15th minute, CATANIA opened the score with forward Gionatha Spinesi after a cross from Mascara.  Juventus goalkeeper Buffon could not stop the ball and surprisingly CATANIA takes the lead.  Catania 1 - 0 FC Juventus.

In this way, Catania break the record after beating Juventus in 1964!!!  Incredible.  Point is whether Juventus will react or not.  No wonder why Catania fans keep chanting to their heart's content.

Before the match Catania coach Silvio Baldini praised Adriano Buffon, Gigi Buffon's father,  who was his coach when Baldini  played.

The biggest disappointment in Juventus was Portuguese midfielder Tiago who was substituted in the second half by Marco Marchionni. You bet Tiago will definitely move to another club.

In the 87th minute, Catania Coach Silvio Baldini decides to substitute forward Gionatha Spinesi for Tedesco.  Spinesi left the field with a standing ovation from Catania fans.

Just in the very last minute, exactly in the 89th minute, Referee Rocchi grants a penalty kick to Juventus after a foul committed by Defender Biagianti on Alessandro Del Piero inside the area.  Among tremendous protests from Catania players and Catania fans screaming "ladri," meaning "thieves" Del Piero blasted Catania goalkeeper and equalized the match in the 90th minute.

Despite this 1- 1 draw, the match was a big disappointment.

Juventus again wasted a VALUABLE opportunity to surpass ROMA for the second position.  Juventus lost in Malta against VALLETTA and could not beat Catania either!  This was a major disappointment!!!!  Catania Coach Silvio Baldini was so outraged with the controversial penalty that he left the bench!

Catania saw their dream shattered with Del Piero's goal. It's been 43 years since Catania beat Juventus.  Well, maybe they beat them next time.  Juventus was not sharp today.

Pietro this was a major disappointment. The match just ended. At least Juventus did not lose the match and Del Piero scored. Yet, I am so upset with Juve players.

I can't believe it, Juve almost lost this match. It is not a deserved draw. What's your take?

Fortunately I didn't manage to watch this match (and obviously poor performance)! At least Alex saved our ass once again...

Juventino Tedesco indeed, it was such a disappointing match. I was so upset with Juve. Could not believe that they were almost beaten by CATANIA! All respect to Catania, but technically they are not better than Juventus. Despite having the dynamic duo Trezeguet - Del Piero, no goals were coming. Had not been for that CLEAR penalty, it was going to be a crying time.

I still have my hope high for JUVE to win the Scudetto because MILAN mathematically cannot make it. The only clear contestants are Juve and Roma. However, if Inter start losing which i doubt and Milan winning, another story can be told.

Btw: I wonder why the Catania manager got furious about the pk decision. In my eyes a clear & stupid foul from the defender in their box!
