By Anna Italia
On December 28, the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed the final result from 141,295 readers that selected the ideal 2007 Soccer Team. Incredible so, 5 Inter players are among the selected ones and not a single player from AC Milan, not even the FIFA 2007 Best Player KAKA!
The instructions were to select players with at least 25 appearances in the Serie A and B of the current calendar year. So, here are the results. Do you agree with this "Ideal Soccer Team?"

Goalkeeper:
Gigi Buffon (FC Juventus) 68.5%
Sebastien Frey (Fiorentina) 26.8%
Alberto Fontana (Palermo) 4.6%
Anna Italia: I agree with Gigi Buffon selection.

Defenders:
Javier Zanetti (FC Inter) 47%
Philippe Mexes (AS Roma) 39.6%
Ivan Cordoba (FC Inter) 13.4%
Anna Italia: I disagree with Zanetti as the top choice.
Midfielders:
Esteban Cambiasso (FC Inter) 65.6%
Cristian Doni (Atalanta) 28.6%
Luis Figo (FC Inter) 5.8%
Anna Italia: I agree with Esteban Cambiasso, yet, would have included Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso instead of Luis Figo or Doni.

Forwards:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (FC Inter) 62.1%
Francesco Totti (AS Roma) 22.5%
Antonio Di Natale (Udinese) 15.4%
Anna Italia: I totally agree with Zlatan Ibrahimovic first choice. Yet, my second choice would have been DAVID TREZEGUET not Totti. Totti can go as third option based on both performances.

Coach:
Roberto Mancini (FC Inter) 39.6%
Cesare Prandelli (Fiorentina) 32.9%
Claudio Ranieri (FC Juventus) 27.5%
Anna Italia: I agree with Roberto Mancini selection based on his superb record in the SERIE A. However, for International selection, the only top choice without a doubt goes to AC Milan Carlo Ancelotti. No coach can match Ancelotti's accomplishments in the 2007: Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA World Club Cup.

I think the selections were too Inter heavy, but I suppose that is to be expected because they are in first.

Kenntak first, I hope you have a nice New Year's celebration!... Second, I agree, the "selection" tends to favor INTER. Yet, I don't agree at all with Zanetti's as the first option for "defense." Don't get me wrong. He is great, excellent, but I don't think he was the best defender in 2007. Contrary to IBRAHIMOVIC, that there is not a single doubt about his surperb performance, same for Roberto Mancini as coach... but in SERIE A.

Ok people the truth hurt but Inter deserve this and Milan deserve NOTHING in Serie A simply because they are NOTHING in Serie A

Hey, all,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
As i realized, Gigi or Zlatan will be named as the best player of the year if to look at the result even it is from the readers. Yes, as we all know, Milan really had nothing to deserve despite their international career last year! it's true, guys!

And i surprised with the result of Totti if to compare with Zlatan. Here is too much difference! And Trezeguet is not in here as well.
