Can Totti Become the Goalscorer of the Serie A of All Time?

By Guest Writer Suri

The talismanic captain of my most favorite football club AS Roma, Francesco Totti has scored 158 goals in 379 games of the Serie A within his 18 year’s career, of the years he has played in the Serie A.

As far as I know, Silvio Piola had 274 goals in 537 games in his 25 years and is the number one goalscorer of all time. Looking at the year number between both of them, are Totti’s 158 goals enough to compare with Silvio’s? YES, IT IS, guys!

I doubted but I found out that it is equal to Silvio’s! Because I divided the numbers and Silvio’s 15-year-goal was 158. But you all know it is not exactly a true result, because I don’t know how many goals Silvio scored in a season. You guys divide its 274*15/26=158 or 158*26/15=273.4.

Wow. Such a great result! It means Totti will be number one goalscorer of all time, if he will stay for another 11 years! But I read that Totti is going to retire at the age of 35!

Here guys, the table of the goalscorers of the Serie A! Enjoy It! The resut is taken from www.en.wikipedia.com and it is as of December 16, 2007.

Sorry Suri, but I don't think he's gonna make it due to injury and as you said he'd have to stay playing 11 more years which is like IMPOSSIBLE for players like Totti, cause in the world of Football if you are one of the best players you MUST stay the best or else they are nothing even if they are good, in soccer you need to improve not stay the same and a good example is Ronaldinho, was #1 now #5 Though as a fan of Totti I'd like to see him play 11 more years, he is still amazing.

I agree with Milan99. I don't think Totti --although I like him -- will make it. His injuries are his main obstacles.

    Hey, Milan 99,
Yes, it is! Here is a problem that Totti won't play for another 11 years!

Suri, I feel your sadness, I have same thing for my favorite of all Hernan Crespo, who might not play after this season
