Let's get the record straight.  Last week, Torino and Roma draw 0-0for the Sixteenth Round of the Serie A, and now they are playing again for the COPPA ITALIA Sixteen First Leg and Torino beating the defending champion?

Was not the challenge for AS Roma Luciano Spalletti to win this match as defending Champions?  Was not the challenge for forward Mirko Vucinic to take Roma by the hand to victory with his goals?

In the 12th minute, ex Inter forward Uruguayan Alvaro Recoba blasted Roma from 30 yards fooling Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.  Torino Captain Recoba showing great technique shoots directly to the net. Here is your first "Christmas gift" for all Torino fans from Recoba.   Torino 1 - 0 AS Roma.

It took Roma more than 30 minutes to equalize the match. Just in the 45th minute, Brazilian forward Amantino Mancini with a bright smile equalized the score. Torino 1 - 1 AS Roma.

Incredible so, instead of Roma returning with a stronger determination, TORINO returned with a determined attitude. In the 50th minute, it is the day of Alvaro Recoba who gives Torino the winning goal. Roma not concetrated and lost ball possession. Recoba controls the ball shooting with his right fooft blasting again Roma's net. What a cold shower for Roma, a great Christmas gift to all Torino fans from Alvaro Recoba.

Torino 2 - 1 AS Roma.

I don't even want to tell you what happened just few minutes before the end of the match. Oh, well, I will tell you. Just in the 88th minute, there you go... SLAMMMMMMMMMM...  a final Christmas touch from ex Roma player G. Comotto blasting Roma's goalkeeper for the third time after a pass from Alvaro Recoba.

Torino 3 - 1 AS Roma

It seems the Christmas Party of Torino motivated the team. President Urbano Cairo and Coach Walter Novellinotoasted for "better success," during the party. Boy, what a best way to show a response from the team with this superb victory. Don't you think?

What could I say?
Great for Torino and "crying time" for Roma fans. Just a disappointment from Roma. What's happening to Roma? Are they losing motivation?

This is an upsetting loss. a 2-1 loss would not have been that bad, but the very late goal made it 3-1. In order for the defending champs to advance, Roma will have to win at least 2-0 or 3-1 and hope to win in extra time or the shoot out. Not easy. Roma is slumping right now, and it is very disappointing.

Pietro, it will be tough for Roma. I know that they can really light up the scoreboard sometimes, and they will need to do that against Torino at home.

Guidolin is doing well managing Palermo. That is three positive results in a row against three strong opponents.

As I wrote in another post, that Roma ain't the Emperor of Rome no more I'm really sorry to say that. But the thing that also disappoint me was Recoba couldn't he have done this against Inter instead of Roma.
