                    EMPOLI  2  - 1  FC JUVENTUS
                                       19' N. Pozzi                         81' Vincenzo Iaquinta
                                       48' I. Abate

Unbelievable, just incredible.  David beat Goliath!!!

Despite FC Juventus Coach saying that they were ready for this match, hello, suprise.... it turned out that Juventus were not really ready.

Not only Empoli is in the very last position of the Serie A, but they were beating FC Juventus that is in the third position!  In the 19th minute, forward Nicola Pozzi opens the score. Empoli 1 - 0 FC Juventus

Then, right at the beginning of the second half, in the 48th minute, it was midfielder Ignazio Abate to score the second goal leaving Juve speechless!  Empoli 2 - 0 FC Juventus.  Simply put guys, the young lads from Empoli beating the OLD LADY!

It took JUVENTUS 81 minutes to score a single goal, the honor goal. I would have not believe this result before! Empoli 2 - 1 FC Juventus.

However, nothing is dead for the Old Lady, La Vecchia Signora still has hope to qualify for the Coppa Italia Tim.
The goal by forward Vincenzo Iaquinta gives Juve hope. They only need to win the return match in the Olimpico Stadio of Turin on January 16, 2008.

Prior the match, Coach Ranieri said “It's part of my philosophy, I've always shuffled my teams around a lot, I'm not the kind of Manager who only counts on 10-12 players, I want to count on everyone. That's why I expect those who play to show that they deserve my trust. It'll be useful to me and the Club, to decide who stays next year. I don't have two teams here, I always have Juventus”.

Well, now Ranieri knows how to "REALLY COUNT."  Unfortunately. some of his shuffled players let him down.  Broken his trust.  Time for the "soliti" (usual) guys starting with the one and only Saint Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, who rested today.

To make matters worst, just on talking about Juve players showing "they deserve his trust," Almiron was even sent off in the 57th minute!
