Serie A Standing BEFORE The match: Sampdoria 10th position, 17 points
Reggina 17th position, 10 points
While the challenge for Sampdoria Coach Walter Mazzarri is to win at home after their disastrous defeat against Livorno, Reggina has the need to win the match and avoid going all the way down to the relegation zone.
What did you know? After a month of recovery, a great pass by the wonder boy forward Antonio Cassano in the 5th minute to forward Claudio Bellucci and Sampdoria is leading the match. Sampdoria 1 - 0 Reggina.
The first half seems dominated by Sampdoria. In the 14th minute, Captain Sergio Volpi suffers a foul by Reggina midfielder Hallfredson. Great to see the combination of Bellucci - Cassano, understanding each other. Can they score again? Reggina is just nowhere. I was expecting a more aggressive attitude from Reggina.
In the 22nd minute, Sampdoria forward Bellucci gets a yellow card for a foul on Missiroli.
Far from being a passive match, this is an aggressive match. In the 25th minute, Reggina defender Lanzaro gets a yellow card for a foul on Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano.
Clearly, Mazzarri wants to win this match and his players are responding in the field.
In the 36th minute, Reggina Missiroli gets a yellow card for a foul on Antonio Cassano.
In the 41st minute, Sampdoria Captain Sergio Volpi gets a yellow card for a foul on Hallfredson.
First half ends with Sampdoria in the lead, and 4 yellow cards 2 for each team!
However, in the second half, Reggina returns motivated. Now, it is Reggina the aggressive one while Sampdoria lost concentration.
Wow, just when it seems that Reggina was going to equalize the match, Sampdoria scores the second goal! In the 56th minute, Paolo Sammarco increases the score. Sampdoria 2 - 0 Reggina.
In the 57th minute, Reggina defender Aronica gets a yellow card.
You bet Sampdoria fans are happy seeing Sampdoria playing great football. Reggina lost their aggressive attitude after the suffering the second goal. It is Sampdoria again to take the offensive strategy.
In the 60th minute, Cassano gets a yellow card for improper conduct. Five minutes later, in the 65th minute, Reggina Coach Renzo Ulivieri is expulsed! He gets a straight red card after he starts arguing towards Cassano.
In the 75th minute, Reggina defender LANZARO gets a second yellow card and it is a RED CARD, expulsed for committing a foul on midfielder Angelo Palombo. Reggina remains with 10 players in the last 15 minutes.
In the 76th minute, a "doppietta by Bellucci" Maggio sends a cross to Bonazzoli who sends a cross to forward Claudio Bellucci and there you go, gooooaalllll. Sampdoria 3 - 0 Reggina.
What a match! Happy ending for Sampdoria and a sad day for Reggina who might go down to the last position!

Pietro I was so happy for Cassano too! Unfortunately, Milan and Juve ended with a goalless draw.

Milan99 far from being a draw, it was a GOLEADA, a victory for Sampdoria.

I saw this on Rai International. It was their featured live match. I only saw the 1st half in front of the TV. All I could say is Cassano was the man of the 1st half. Him and Belluci. Cassano showed his technical abilities, assisting Bellucci with crosses. Complete domination from La Samp from midfield. Samp looked pumped wonder what Reggina will do to play better next week.

Ricardo15 I saw the match on Rai International too. Cassano made the big difference. The only problem is that he has not matured enough and keep misbehaving. For instance, calling bad words to the coach of Reggina was not nice and fighting like kids. Ulivieri was sent off. I think Cassano is a great player but he hsa to mature and be professional.
