No more waiting!  The big day arrived and now AC Milan - FC Juventus sustain a duel. However, the challenge is for AC Milan to finally win at home in San Siro before departing to Japan for the FIFA World Club Cup.

While AC Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti chose his favorite formation "the Christmas tree" a 4-3-2-1 with Alberto Gilardino as the sole forward, FC Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri chose a 4 -4-2 with forwards David Trezeguet and Vincenzo Iaquinta.

I'm watching the match in Italian on Rai International.  Referee Emidio Morganti whistles the start of the match surrounded by a big choir in San Siro supporting AC MILAN

May the best win....

First 5 minutes, Milan starts playing aggressive trying to dominate the match without allowing any space to Juventus. Will Milan be able to dominate, this is the question. Can they score first.... we will see... Go DIDA!  Go 11 ROARING LIONS!

In the 7th minute, Juventus gets a corner kick.  Midfielder Pavel Nedved sends the ball in from the corner, a concentrated Massimo Oddo clears the ball.

In the 10th minute, AC Milan Clarence Seedorf  shoots from the right wing, then sends the ball looking for Alberto Gilardino, but Juve goalkeeper Gigi Buffon makes a save.

In the 12th minute, time now for Juventus with David Trezeguet who profits from a pass by Zanetti and shoots right to the post. What a warning!!!!!  Thanks God DIDA is fit and concentrated. Oh Goodddd I hope Milan won't lose control.

It's just a tough match, fast, both teams playing offensive not willing to wait.  In the 13th minute, AC Milan defender Massimo Oddo sends a cross from the right to the wonder boy Musica and Magia KAKA, but Juve clears the ball.

First great save by Saint Gigi Buffon in the 16th minute when Serginho sends a ball from the left for Alberto Gilardino. Gee.... just when Milan seems closer to open the score and Buffon comes out to grab the ball. Oh noooo, this time, I don't want Saint Buffon... but a goal from Milan.

In the 19th minute, Milan gets a corner after kaka starts a run and stopped by Juve defense. Corner is taken by Kakha Kaldaze sending a long ball to the far post, a wasted opportunity for goal because Milan players did not get it.

Milan keeps attacking, Juve blocking attempts to goal. oh noooo what a suffering!

Another corner kick for Milan. Clarence Seedorf sends a long ball to the far post just like Kaladze did few minutes ago... geeeee...... Same Kaladze tries to reach the ball but again Saint Gigi Buffon makes a save by punching the ball away.

Milan appears to find the "fastest pace to play, instead of their slow start," this is good!   Clarence Seedorf, in the 25th minute tries to penetrate in the area, hits the ball to the net but goes wide! OH NOOOOOOOOO Mamma mia!

Three minutes later, JUVENTUS defender Cristiano Zanetti sends a shot from distance but luckily SAINT DIDA saves!  what a match!!!! It is a duel!!!!! Both teams, come and go , go and come... shoots, saves... wowww, who will score first????????

What an agonizing match! In the 30th minute, DIDA saves again when Hasan salihamidzic sends a cross  to Vincenzo Iaquinta...... saved by DIDA!

In the 33rd minute, Pavel Nedved shots from distance with his right foot, woww, the ball goes left without causing fear to NELSON DIDA.

In the 36th minute, Andrea Pirlo tries a shoot from a corner kick ... OH NOOOO not again... Saint Gigi Buffon saves!!!
Good, Juve defender Nicola Legrottaglie gets the first yellow card for a foul on KAKA!

In the 39th minute, Juventus gets a corner kick. Cristiano Zanetti missed the ball when trying to head the ball.
Saved by luck!!!!

Just now... woww... oh boy... it's Musica and Magia KAKA starting a run on the right only to be stopped by Juve defense!!!  Well, Milan gets a corner kick.

Talking about a duel, it is both way.... only a goal is missing and hopefully for MILAN...

In the 44th minute, Clarence Seedorf sends a  low pass to the middle of the area from the left, and guess what... yes, JUVE CLEARS again!  This time, defender Nicola Legrottaglie clears the ball  away.

Referee Morganti says there will be one minute injury time.  GEee.. in the 45th minute, corner kick for Juventus and Pavel Nedved creates danger, but the roaring Milan defense clears the ball.

First half is over.......... ends Milan 0 - 0 Juventus

Second half starts and it's a WIN WIN for any of the teams, Milan having the most obligation to win at home.

In the 46th minute, Juventus gets a corner kick, Pavel Nedved shoots the ball to the near post and Nicola Legrottaglie missed the target!  Thankfully for Milan, the defense has proved strong, with great performance from Alessandro Nesta.

Geee... in the 48th minute, Juventus almost scored!!!!  Salihamidzic shoots and SAINT DIDA saves the ball!!!!  This has become a duel between both goalkeepers: Dida - Buffon.  Both making great saves!  Just a deja vu from the great 2003 final from the UEfA Champions League where Milan won thanks to saves of DIDA and a goal by Sheva.

Oh well,,, match is on.... In the 50th minute, Massimo Oddo sends a ball from the right for Kaka, shots in the middle towards Buffon, the ball rebounces and Alberto Gilardino make an effort to shoot... geee... he is offside!!!! What a luck! Mamma mia!

Milan is not giving up.  Unlike other matches at home, this time I am seeing 11 roaring lions. Let me correct myself, 22 roaring lions because both teams are giving their best. It is a real duel between two great teams.

In the 52nd minute, Milan gets a free kick and Andrea Pirlo shoots towards the near post. Oh no... Molinaro cleared the ball deflecting it and grants Milan a corner kick.

Andrea Pirlo gets ready for the corner again, he sends the ball to the near post. This is not possible!

Oh noooooo,, what a wasted chance from Gilardino.  just a minute later, in the 54th minute, Kaka sends a ball from the right wing to Alberto Gilardino who slips in the last moment.  Wow, unbelievable, what a chance for scoring...

No objections, but both teams are giving a great demonstration of football technique.  Come and go, shoot and stop.

What an agonizing match. Come on Milan...

In the 57th minute, Juventus get a free kick. Vincenzo Iaquinta shoots from the edge of the area and Saint DIDA saves!!!! Good Dida!

In the 58th minute, Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini gets a yellow card for a foul on Musica and Magia boy KAKA.
Chiellini has had a superb match, making many saves and being the great obstacle for Milan to convert opportunities for goal.

Oh no.... again.... Saint Gigi Buffon!  In the 59th minute, the great Andrea Pirlo shoots a free kick from 28 meters right to the middle and what else... GIGI BUFFON saves!

Now, Juve counterattacks... Madonnaaaaa what a suffering.... Pavel Nedved sends a low shot, uuffaa, luckily the ball goes wide!

Thirty more minutes and this is over.

In the 64th minute, AC Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti makes first substitution. Serginho is out and the great captain Paolo Maldini is in. Also, Alberto Gilardino out, and Super Filippo Inzaghi is in.  Can Inzaghi score??????

In the 68th minute, Kaka sends a shot from the edge of the area only to find Juve defender Nicola Legrottaglie!

wow... great performance from Inzaghi!  In the 71st minute, Pippo shoots with his right foot that requires Saint Gigi Buffon to punch the ball away!  what a move form Inzaghi!

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri makes 2 substitutions in the 71st minute: Vincenzo Iaquinta out, Alessandro Del Piero in, Hasan Salihamidzic out, Marco Marcchioni in.

In the 75th minute, Clarence Seedorf shoots to find Inzaghi, who happens to be OFFSIDE!!!

Time is running by and no goals!!!!!

In the 80th minute, forward Alessandro Del Piero, slips when trying to dribble into the area.

In the 82nd minute, Juve Coach substitutes Pavel Nedved for Raffaele Palladino in effort to create a more offensive match with fresh energy.

In the 88th minute, precisely, Raffaele Palladino sends a corner kick into the area, luckily MILAN defense saves!

In the 90th minute, just adding emotion to the match.  Great Paolo Maldini shoots from distance with his left foot but the ball goes just over the bar!!!!!!!!!!!!

Referee Morganti says 4 more minutesssss......

All Milan comes to the attacking zone.... 91st minute, Inzaghi and Del Piero both trying to score for their teams, and are OFF SIDE!!!!!

In the 92nd minute, Massimo Ambrosini sends a cross to Inzahi on the right, but again... Inzaghi is OFFSIDE!!! What a luck!

Two more minutes...... kaka shoots towards the middle of the net, and oh noooo Legrottaglie deflects it!!

One more minute.... Last effort, no, nothing can be done.... duel is over...... match finishes AC Milan 0 - 0 FC Juventus.

I     should be mad for this draw. Once again, Milan could not win at home! Unbelievable!  Yet, I am not mad because I saw 11 roaring lions fighting with all they had.  Simply, this time, with Juventus back in Serie A, we saw a great duel.  The old times are back.

However, the match turns into a duel between both goalkeepers: NELSON DIDA and GIGI BUFFON. Both had a superb perfomance.  Great for Dida. This gives me hope that Milan is ready for the FIFA World Club Cup with a confident Dida.

My only regret is that we did not win, but, hey, rather than losing against Juve and going with such low spirit to Japan, would have been tragic.

Pietro match is over and no goals!!!! I should be mad for this draw, but I am not. Surprised?

I am not mad because I saw a great DUEL. Milan fought until the end, as well as Juventus. Problem was the "christmas tree"formation. Juventus being at their top and with 2 forwards, just too tiring for Kaka to run and provide balls to a single forward, Gila wasted many chances. Inzaghi with the few minuted he had, changed the rhythm, sadly.. no goals.

This only means that MILAN is back because Juventus so far has proved to be the OLD VECCHIA SIGNORA, the true archrival of Milan not Inter....

Great for DIDA, great for Buffon.

I think you are right, i think the positive note was to see a confident Dida. I only hope we win in Japan, it was a great agonizing match. I think Ancelotti should have used Inzaghi earlier and not waited until almost the end to substitute Gilardino, don't you think?

Pietro you got it. My main concern was DIDA and seeing his great performance today just added the positive note for the FIFA World Club Cup. You bet, I agree, Inzaghi should have started earlier.

Wonder what Kenntak think about this 4-3-2-1 formation, which it is not my favorite but Ancelotti loves it! I am more for a 4-4-2 just like Berlusconi. Especially, if playing with someone strong like Juventus with a powerful attack.

nancyboj I think Milan played a faster game, which is good compared to the slow rhythm they had in the past. Converting opportunities for goal was the problem and also the great Juve Goalkeeper Saint Gigi Buffon. Despite the draw result, I was happy with the performance.
