EURO 2008 Qualifying Match Scotland - Italy "France Coach Raymond Domenech and all Frenchs Cheering for Italy!!"

By Anna Italia

How the world goes around!

Ironically, France Coach Raymond Domenech is actually cheering for ITALY!  Incredible, this is an opportunity to OPEN A CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE and celebrate, don't you think? The French newspaper L'Equipe highlights that the most important result right now for France is not the friendly match against Morocco, but what happens in Scotland - Italy. Liberation says France - Morocco, for what?

While France plays today a friendly match against Morocco, Coach Domenech is more concentrated on the result of tomorrow EURO 2008 Qualifying match Scotland - Italy.  Are you wondering why? Oh, well, hello.... Simply, if Scotland

wins, it will take the lead with 27 points and with France playing away in UKRAINE, the victory is not totally guaranteed for France.

Italy with one more match, it can win at home against Faroe Islands on Wednesday, November 21. An Italian victory, which is most likely to happen, will mean that Italy will have 26 points, if losing against Scotland. So, the 2 teams to pass from Group B will be Scotland and Italy.

This is why DOMENECH rather sees ITALY beating Scotland, so FRANCE and ITALY pass to the next round. Simply put, Italy's victory will give FRANCE their pass.  Incredible, so much bickering between both countries, and now they are conveniently FRIENDS.

Funny, that Domenech won't allow his team to watch the match of SCOTLAND - ITALY.  You bet, they will find "ways" to follow the match.

I will send a whole case of the best Italian wine to Domenech and small tvs or access to the match to each player. Only sour note is that Domenech did not call Trezeguet for this friendly match.

Sorry, I sort of have Gattuso's view of the French team. I am sorry that they qualified by Italy's win. I would have rather had Scotland qualify. I really don't like Domenech.

I respect your opinion. All Italy had to do was beat France at home and not draw at least one of their previous matches. Italy asked for it and unfortunately 'qualified' its worst enemy- la France.

Ricardo15 just ringing your same words and echoing Gattuso "unfortunately 'qualified' its worst enemy- la France." Rather would have helped Scotland...

Sure many Italians don't like Domenech and many French don't liek the Italians. All I've got to say is Domenech won twice against Italy- simple mind games didn't let Italy win at home. Italy shou'd have beat France at least at the San Siro. I would have preferred Italy coming out with this agressive attitude in the France qualifying games not with Scotland because they knew they had to win to qualify.

Ricardo15 here you touched my Italian pride.... Although you are right on saying that "Domenech won twice against Italy," Sure, Italy had the obligation to beat France in San Siro. Hopefully, DONADONI will keep this winning attitude and transmit it to the team.

Ricardo, you are right Italy should have won AT LEAST the San Siro game, but be sure Italy won't stop here just like in the world cup(draw against USA imagine and still won the cup) they went for the cup and won against France and all France did in Euro 2008 is that they tried to make it for the world cup lost but NOTHING make it for the world cup lost its the world cup after all. SO SOON YOU'LL SEE THE CHAMPS, the one we've seen against Scotland were great but the CHAMPS WIN CUPS NOT ONLY GAMES TO QUALIFY

Sadly, Ricardo15 is right, Italy should have won against France as world cup champions. Now, not looking in the past, but in the future and i trust Italy will be strong again.
