                                                 66'  G. Tedesco

Although Palermo has a disadvantage for not having forwards Amauri and Fabrizio Miccoli,  Napoli comes with all his army to grab the 3 points and silence the Renzo Barbera Stadium. Since the challenge was for Palermo to keep a tight defense to stop Napoli forwards Lavezzi and Marcelo Zalayeta, up to the first half they are accomplishing the challenge.  Can they manage to safeguard the net in the second half? That's the question.

Despite Palermo President Zamparini sustaining that this Palermo-Napoli match is not crucial, the numbers say the opposite. Palermo and Napoli have played a total of 52 matches, 11 victories for Palermo and 22 for Napoli, and 19 draws. Before this match, both teams have 15 points, Napoli is in the 7th position while Palermo is in the 8th position.  Therefore, for Palermo it is important because it can reach the 7th position with a victory.

In the first half, Palermo had the chance to score but shots from midfielder Giovanni Tedesco  and forward Franco Brienza hit the woodwork.

In the 55th minute, Napoli silenced the Renzo Barbera Stadium with a goal from midfielder Mariano Bogliacino who heads the ball after a crosss from forward Ezequel Lavezzi. A moment of silence, Palermo is down by a goal.  Palermo 0 - 1 Napoli.

However, 2 minutes later, in the 57th minute, Palermo reacted with a long range shot turning into a goal from midfielder Giovanni Tedesco after it was deflected by Mirko Savini and the Renzo Barbera explodes of joy. Palermo 1 - 1 Napoli.

Palermo coach Stefano Colantuono can breathe. It's a matter of Palermo believing in the miracle to break the "draw's trend," and find the second goal.

In the 66th minute, again, the man of the match midfielder Giovanni Tedesco gives the winning goal to Palermo.  Palermo 2 - 1 Napoli.

Palermo at the end broke "draw's trend."  Credits go to all the team effort for showing character and determination to win the match for themselves and for the fans.

Pietro sorry but Palermo won 2 -1. Up to the first half, it appeared it was going to be a draw, but in the second half the match changed after Napoli's goal. A surprising Giovanni Tedesco showing "grinta' and Palermo working in unity to get the victory. Finally, they did. Let's see what happens with Milan tomorrow.

Hey Kenntak you better believe Palermo is adding more excitement to the Serie A! I think it is wonderful... too bad they could not keep Luca Toni and build a stronter team in the South, just like Milan, Inter, and Juve.

The match was awesome... Giovanni Tedesco was the revelation and savior for Palermo....
