                                               ROMAN DERBY

                                                 AS ROMA  3  - 2  LAZIO
19' Mirko Vucinic          12' Tommaso Rocchi
                                                                 42' Amantino Mancini   69' Ledesma
                                                                 56' Simone Perrotta

Will it be a Roma or a Lazio Celebration...
                                       It was a ROMA celebration!

What a match!

The Italian capital stops for a moment. It is the derby...

In the 12th minute, the Olimpico explodes!  It is Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi opening the score giving so far the victory to Lazio.   Roma 0 - 1 Lazio

Roma players either react or succumb.... Come on.. come on... the first 10 minutes the men of Luciano Spalletti cannot find the way to the net.  There is no clarity.  Either Roma wake up and someone take the leadership to push the team or it will be a Lazio victory.

A tense match, a clear desperation from both teams to win the DERBY. This is no joke guys; both want to win no matter what.

Roma are reacting... starting to show some character.

Hey.... wowwwwwwww in the 19th minute ROMAAAAA a pass from Brazilian Mancini to forward Mirko Vucinic and it is GOOOOAAALLLLLL.... Vucinic celebrates, SUPER TOTTI celebrates in the tribune, all the bench celebrate... party time... THIS IS THE DERBY.... Now, it is open for both... who wanted more...... Roma 1 - 1  Lazio

It seems Roma took the leadership and it means "taking care of business."   Yet, Lazio players are not giving up at this stage.  Point now is how are both teams going to react.

This is a real battle: A CLASH of the Roman teams!
What a match, this is a derby worth watching....

In the 35th minute, Zauri  sends a pass and Goran Pandev heads in  but it goes directly to Roma goalkeeper Doni.
What a chance for Lazio to take the lead!

What an assist..... it's Roma Frenchman defender Philippe Mexes to Brazilian Amantino Mancini and voila'  GOOAAALLLL  In the 42nd minute, Mancini  giving the winning goal to ROMA to the joy of the giallorossi fans!!!  Mancini shoots into the top left corner defeating Lazio goalkeeper Marco Ballotta. It's party time at the Olimpico.... Mancini celebrates and goes down to his knees to thank God.  Actually, all Roma fans are thanking God for this partial victory....  Roma 2 - 1  Lazio

In the 56th minute, midfielder Simone Perrotta takes Roma to a 3-1 victory.  Adding pepper and salt to an already cooked pasta.  Roma 3 -1 Lazio

In the 70th minute, Cristian Ledesma shortens the distance giving some hope to Lazio fans but worrying Roma fans.  The derby is open.  Roma 3 - 2 Lazio.

The end.... just the end..... the Roma derby ends with a well deserved for AS ROMA.....

Congratulations to all Roma fans, including my frequent blog visitors: Ricardo15, Kenntak, Pietro, Suri, Milan99.  They were cheering for Roma too.

Milan99 I join you to congratulate our good Roman fans: Ricardo15, Suri, Kenntak.

It was a great derby! I enjoyed the match very much and seeing Mancini with an assist and then scoring just sent me to paradise! Vucinic... SURI's favorite guy after Totti, was superb. Now, it is true that Roma can rely on Vucinic. He has been a decisive factor in the last victories of Roma.
That feels good! What about my guy? SIMONE PERROTTA... just awesome! How I enjoy seeing him scoring or making an assist. He feels the Derby as much as Totti!
Great derby... just spectacular but not more than the MILAN SHOW TIME!!!!

Hello Milan99 i think Vucinic is a good player but never will be Totti's replacement because Totti is a symbol and Roma itself, i also hope our Roma fans congratulate us too when Milan win.

      Hi, Pietro,
I am glad that you realized that no one can never replace our beloved TOTTI since he is the heart and symbol of not only AS Roma and but also ITALY.
and I am happy too for AC Milan for their 5-0 victory. It was cool to hear that KAKA scored his seventh goal even it was scored from the penalty area and now became one of the top goalscorers in the Serie A. You know i like Kaka for his great technique and mind. He may be considered as the next ZIDANE! What u think about it?

I agree Suri that Totti cannot be replaced in Roma because he is the symbo but not that much as being Italy symbol. He is recognized as one of the best Italian football players but not like Roberto Baggio. I hope Totti can be the top again but with the nazionale too.

Ciao Pietro!!! A team that won't get replacements won't always stay the best. All respect to Totti I love his skill too But in fotbul replacement is important, I'm not saying he'll be as great as Totti because NOBODY have the great style of Totti Every player have their own style.

Kenntak not only an exciting game, but also refreshing to see both teams fighting with all their heart to win the derby. It was a great match. Yet, the best derby, and a Roman battle was so far the one in 2005 with Totti and Di Canio leading their respective team.

The players have a lot of pride too. I saw that Mexes apologized for his misjudment on the offside trap that led to the first Lazio goal.

Anna, too bad I missed that 2005 derby.

Kenntak It was a great derby... DI CANIO and TOTTI were just at their top defending their teams and the right to win the derby as ROMA teams... expectations were huge and all the build up was just awesome. This derby lacked that one -on-one challenge.... Unfortunately, for Roma, Lazio won that derby and DI CANIO became the hero!
