Donadoni Has the Italian Line Up "on His Mind" But won't tell Until tomorrow

By Anna Italia

Just a day before the EURO 2008 Qualifyer Match Italy - Georgia, Italian Head coach said he already has the line up on his mind. Yet, he will tell the line up until tomorrow.

Donadoni insists on having Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta, who missed the afternoon training session at the Marassi Stadium. Does it mean that he will go ahead with the 4-3-3 formation?

Iaquinta stayed at the hotel because he had a cold. Fortunately, he had no fever. Donadoni will verify his health condition during Saturday morning training session, just before the much awaited match.

In the meantime, the leading striker hope is Bayern Munich Luca Toni. Here is Toni during the training session at the Marassi Stadium. (photo: ansa.it)

Donadoni said Italy must be careful to avoid a "figuraccia." (bad role).

Donadoni has a tremendous responsibility tomorrow. He might have the line up on his mind but players are the ones on the pitch. Agree with you that if Iaquinta is not fit enough, he should not be playing just to keep a 4-3-3 formation. Donadoni can still do his 4-3-3 with Quagliarella, Luca Toni and di Natale.

Playing at home? Give me a 3 nil victory. No disrespect to Georgia. Italy barely beat Ukraine, with Toni they've got to be able to beat Georgia. France beat Georgia at their stadium 3 nil.

Pietro, I think if Donadoni keeps his 4-3-3 formation and Iaquinta plays... he might give us the big surprise by making the difference instead of Antonio Di Natale.

Hey Ricardo15, I expect the same. Italy should beat Georgia with more than 2 goals, nothing less. Good thing is that Georgian AC Milan Kaka Kaladzec is not playing, that is a relief!
