Can Alessandro Del Piero Be a Key Player for Juventus Friendly Match Against Young Boys in Berne on Friday, October 12?

By Anna Italia

Not only Juventus have another challenge tomorrow to prove their international level when playing against Young Boys in Berne, Switzerland, but also Alessandro Del Piero.

Sure, it is a friendly match, but still, it gives Juventus a chance to see how they are doing in the European level, especially for Alessandro Del Piero who was not called this time for the EURO 2008 Qualifyer Match Italy - Georgia.

Can you imagine if Del Piero scores and prove to be a key player for Juventus victory? It will just add "gasoline" to those arguing why Italian Head coach Roberto Donadoni did not call him.

Juventus will travel to Switzerland tomorrow morning and returning right after the match. Hey, that is just "business," or like Italians say "andata e ritorno," punto e basta.

The good thing is that Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri will give the players 3 days off! That is absolutely right! players are human beings not machines.

What:   Friendly Match Young Boys - FC Juventus
Where: Stade de Suisse
             Berne, Switzerland
Time:     7:30 p.m.

These are the 16 first team players called by Ranieri.

Goalkeepers: Belardi, Novembre, Vanstrattan
Difensori: Birindelli, Grygera, Legrottaglie, Molinaro, Zebina
Midfielders: Almiron, Nedved, Nocerino, Olivera Salihamidzic, Tiago, Zanetti
Forwards: Del Piero

Missing from the list are David Trezeguet and Palladino for having various aches and pains. Therefore, the responsibility falls on DEL PIERO because Vincenzo Iaquinta is with the Italian National team.

Hey, Del Piero, here is your chance to silence your critics. You go boy!

Tiago! Finally get to see him play with Juve a little more. Too bad he wasn't called up for this weekend's EURO qualifiers. This game is his chance to start showing Ranieri how good he can be. If not, another bad luck case like Antunes.

Yeah if Del Piero plays well he could silence his critics. "Berne" is hardly a top-notch club is it? HOw many games in a row can he be playing well? Ranieri can't keep him on 90 minutes for one brilliant play. He showed how slow he can be in the last Italy game so, I think it's wise that Donadoni is slowly putting him apart and making space for the "young guns."

Ricardo15, you will have 3 players to follow today: your famous Antunes, Juve Tiago and Del Piero to see whether he plays well or not.

I do hope DEL PIERO score more than 1 goal to silence the critics. I do have faith in Del Piero.

Is not a matter of age, but on how fit a player is. They might be young and not fit, while OLD and play well.
