Italy goalkeeper Gigi Buffon still optimistic about Italy qualifying for the EURO 2008 despite the draw with France.
Buffon recognizes that France achieved its goal, which was not to lose.
Regarding the whistling of the French national anthem, Buffon like his teammates, was displeased with the crowd.
"When we played in France we were not jeered just weeks after the World Cup final, and were applauded, so we should learn from them."

Forza Football... about Materazzi, either you love him or hate him... I am in between because when he plays for the Nazionale I love him! But when he plays against AC Milan i dont like him hahhahahahha... as a person he might be nice.
Buffon, yes... a quality player! Yet, Maldini takes the lead.

I couldn't believe my ears during the Marseillaise on TV. The French players looked like they were in shock. I was in shock. I could barely hear the music. It made me mad because the ones who did "le polemiche" or unnecessary mind-games was Domenech. I agree with Buffon. Italians need to learn form te French fans in Saint- Denis.

Michel, I couldn't believe my ears too! I really was not expecting such a terrible behavior from most of the public in San Siro. Although I support Italy, and did not want a victory for France, I condemn that kind of behavior.
The National Anthem should be respected. Besides, the French did respect the Italian anthem when Italy went to play at the Stade de France. So, there is no excuse. I am glad all the Italian players, legal football institutions and even the media apologized to the French people and the national French team.

This could have happened in any country to any national team. It was the best thing to do when the Italians player apologized
