Italian Under 21: WITH RUSSOTTO AND CIGARINI THE UNDER 21 TEAM REACH THEIR OBJECTIVE

(FIGC) - Second win for the new Under team. Suffered and difficult, but deserved.

For the determination, for the technical superiority of the Italian team with respect to the opponents, for the playing quality. A win thanks to the new talents of Casiraghi, Russotto and Cigarini, shared with a group that has enormous offensive potential, but with some distractions maybe due to their age.

After the 4-0 win in June against Albania, the Under team brings home three points also against the Far Oer Islands. Italy takes control immediately of the match and the Far Oer Islands, in their first participation in a European Championship, can do nothing against an Italian with five titles behind them.

The module proposed by Casiraghi is the usual 4-3-2-1 with Consigli goalkeeper, Motta, Marzoratti, Marco Rossi and Criscito on defense, Dessena, Cigarini and Marchisio at midfield, two wings Russotto and Giovinco, with Pozzi as forward up front.

The Under team is offensive and starts creating scoring occasions. But they have to miss at least three before going ahead on 26': vertical pass from Giovinco to Andrea Russotto who scores with a right-footed kick and realizes his first goal with the National team.

Controlling the field, the Under 21 does not take advantage of the superiority and the team pays a high price when a distraction on 31' leaves the Far Oer team free to score with Hansen. The match begins against with a goal that conditions the team morale.

The Under is not able to turn the score around and ends the first half on offense.

In the second half, Casiraghi sends Pisano in for Motta from the 1', and on 10' sends Luppoli in for Russotto and on 19' Acquafresca for Pozzi trying to change things around. There is a reaction. On 29', the Italians hit the goalpost and just seconds before the Far Oer goalkeeper makes a miraculous save. But the under team, after complicating things, does not give up. The team is full of talent and shows it ten minutes from the end of the match with a goal scored by Luca Cigarini.

Pierluigi Casiraghi gives a sigh of relief:

"I said that there were no easy matches! - said the coach. We did not play a good first half, too many mistakes; the second half was much better when we tried to score but we deserved to suffer a little less. We recorded a good result but it was not easy: no spaces on the field and my players were good at winning a match that got off the track". "

Casiraghi now has to think about the match the team has next Tuesday in Durazzo against Albania.
