THE MOURNING BEFORE LONDON
From yesterday we are presenting, one by one, all four Rossoneri victories in the European Supercup, an important Uefa competition founded in 1974
Third PART: AC Milan - Arsenal
First Leg played on 1995
Arsenal 0 - Milan 0
Second Leg played on February 8, 1995
Milan 2 - Arsenal 0
MILAN - During time, the Rossoneri were back in the European Super Cup in 1994. They had done so due to a decision of UEFA who had substituted the finalist of the 1993 Champions Cup instead of the suspended Olympique Marseilles. This resulted in an Italian final which Milan won the first leg 1-0 at Parma, but then lost to the Emiliani 2-0 in the second leg at San Siro. In 1995, a year after, Milan played again in the European Super Cup thanks to the 4-0 win over Barcelona of the 18th of May 1994. Arsenal played against the Rossoneri, after the Gunners had beaten Parma in the Cup Winners Cup at Copenhagen.
The first leg was played at Highbury with Milan in shock. Some days before the poor Vincenzo Spagnolo had died and the Rossoneri did not have any fans with them, as a sign of mourning, during this away game in London.
