Two consecutive victories in the Spanish Supercup, the home victory over AEK in the Champions League preliminary: Sevilla are a reality acknowledged all across the European football scene

MILAN - What a great team Sevilla are proving to be! For more than a year now they have been one of the most winning teams in Europe and they deserve great respect in view of the European Supercup final programmed for 31 August in Montecarlo. Here are the latest victories obtained by the Sevilla side coached by Juande Ramos, a team which before taking on Milan will be facing AEK Athens in the Champions League preliminary round: in the first leg the Andalusian team won 2-0.
UEFA CUP 2005-2006: Final Middlesbrough-Sevilla 0-4 with a brace by Enzo Maresca, who played with the Rossoneri in the youth teams.
EUROPEAN SUPERCUP 2006: 25 August in Montecarlo, Barcelona-Sevilla 0-3 with goals by Renato Dirdei, Kanouté, and again by Maresca.
UEFA CUP 2006-2007: Final Sevilla-Espanyol 5-3 after penalties (2-2 was the result after extra time, 3-1 after penalties)
COPA DEL REY 2006-2007: Final Sevilla-Getafe 1-0, goal by Kanouté.
SPANISH SUPERCUP 2007: Sevilla-Real Madrid 1-0; Real Madrid-Sevilla 3-5.
In the last league season Sevilla remained on course for the Spanish league title until the last day and ended up third in La Liga thanks to 71 points won with 21 victories in 38 matches, 64 goals scored and 35 conceded.
